A great little cottage which is stuated in a lovely spot. The views and walks around the cottage, perched on the top of a lovely little valley, are awesome. Very helpful owner and a warm welcome from Jack the neighbours dog (and the friendly neighbour). Would recommend to anyone as long as they don't use it when we next want...

Lovely cottage, in a great location. Dog friendly, my wife and I used the cottage to explore the Peak District, with our 2 dogs, over a long weekend. Dale View Cottage was lovely, clean, neat and extremely homely. Next door has a lovely shaggy dog called "Jack" - he's friendly although we barely saw him. The owner is very mindful...

The cottage is a very old beatiful building that has had it's traditional personality retained. This is exactly what I was looking for and while it is definitly traditional with low wooden beams and a large open fire, it is also very comfortable with a new carpet, extremely comfortable bed, plenty warm enough with everything I needed for a week....

About the neighbourhood
There are a host of places to visit on the local area. The unmissable Chatsworth House, home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire is a short drive away. The house is magnificent and was recently used to film Pride and prejudice with Kiera Knightley. She also starred as Georgiana in the film The Duchess, wife of the fifth duke. Room after room is stunning. Visit the library, dining room, sculpture hall, bedrooms and great hall. One of the most fascinating sights is the famous violin door. The gardens are equally stunning with the famous cascade down the hillside, the Emperor fountain, waterfalls, rare trees and shrubs and the Maze. Successive Dukes have collected sculptures, which are scattered throughout the gardens to dramatic effect. Behind the house there is good walking through Stand... more
