Holiday Rental House
This is a beautifully restored coach house. The original stone floor is evident and heated throughout the downstairs via geothermal heating. It is a spacious house and very suitable for large groups. Beautiful views over the Peak District. There is a large wooden beamed lounge that has been host to many birthday parties over the past 7 years, as well as hen do's, stag do's, retirements, reunions and even a small wedding. This house is steeped in history and is a real landmark in Holmesfield. The kitchen is modern and inviting, the games room includes a pool table and also a table football. There is one small step into the house, and 2 steps into the living-room. The location is perfect for walking to local pubs, walks on the moors or cycling to key locations such as Hathersage, Cha...This is a beautifully restored coach house. We stayed here on a very cold weekend in December and it was the ultimate cosy retreat. A huge amount of work, care and attention to detail has gone in to restoring this 400-year-old listed coach house. I forgot my slippers but thankfully didn’t need...More

Stayed with the family for a wedding and couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay. We had a great time. The cottage was very clean and plenty of room for everyone.

About the neighbourhood
Holmesfield: Holmesfield Holmesfield is a Parish based around two centres of population; the village of Holmesfield itself, and the hamlet of Millthorpe. It is made up of a number of farming hamlets situated above the Cordwell Valley. The village is very pleasantly situated in a highly respectable neighbourhood and contains several very genteel habitations. The Parish extends beyond Owler Bar to the West and towards Dronfield to the East. The centre of the parish is marked by St Swithins parish church, which was built in 1826, which can be seen from almost all of the surrounding areas. Amongst the local amenities are five pubs, (including The Angel Inn, Travellers Rest Inn and the George & Dragon) and a number of restaurants; both a football and cricket pitch, a village hall (that can be b...
Getting around
Car is best but you can get a bus to Chatworth at Owler Bar. A taxi to Sheffield takes about 20 mins and the same for Chesterfield, they are plentiful and reasonable.
