Stayed here by myself during the week for a peaceful break, and it certainly was. Everything was spotless and ready for me, including instructions for appliances, and the basics and little things you forget when away like oil and salt & pepper. Our family stayed in this cottage during the September school holidays. I would highly recommend the cottage as it provides everything a family needs for a relaxing holiday. About the neighbourhood
St Ives Cottage is located close to the bayside beach at Rye on the Southern Tip of the Mornington Peninsula. There is a beach approximately 500 metres away from the house where swimming is perfect and its only a 10 minute walk from there to shops and restaurants. Rye itself has a pier, large childrens playground, the famous Octopussys Garden and the fair is located on the foreshore during the summer holidays.

The historic township of Sorrento is only a 10 - 15 minute drive away toward to furthermost tip of the Peninsula, here you will find beautiful shopping for clothes, furniture, food, art and antiques. From here you can also get the ferry across the bay to Queenscliff for either a visit and a return journey or to take your car and start your journey down the Great Ocean Road. So...
