Beautiful, authentic village house (Maison de Maitre) furnished with antiques and period furniture but with modern comfort and secluded swimming pool set into large terrace in peaceful medieval village, covering 450 square metres. There are 7 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms-roll top baths-huge wet rooms, 2 cots, 2 high chairs, 2 dishwashers! Snooker, table tennis, bicycles to hire. The house is suitable for one or several families or groups. Lots to do and see for all ages. Wine-tasting, Carcassonne World Heritage Site,med, lakes, rivers to swim. Area steeped in gory Cathar history. Wine tours and lectures can be arranged with Master of wine over several days or a weekend.

Equally, it is a very peaceful and charming location to do very little and appreciate the French village life.

Nick, who lives in the village, looks after the house and will be there to meet you and to help out with any queries during your stay. He is English speaking and fluent in French and extremely helpful. He can arrange collection from airports, taxis etc as well as providing advice on trips restaurants, wine tours and anything else.

We aren't long back from Rosie's house and a lovely time was had. We were a group of 8 x adults and 7 x kids so we didn't max out the capacity of the place and it was a relaxed and comfortable stay. The house...More

We had a wonderful time in this beautiful house and can't recommend it highly enough. The swimming pool is lovely and clean, the house has a stunning, sweeping staircase, the decor is tasteful and stylish and there is great entertaining space.

The house has original tiles and shutters everywhere keeping it lovely and cool when it's hot. There are fans in the house too.
All the bathrooms have a bath and a shower except one which has a shower attachment over the bath.
There is a traditional, well-equipped kitchen with marble work tops , american fridge freezer on the ground floor over-looking the garden where most meals are taken under the Mulberry tree. There is also a basic kitchen by the terrace and pool on the first floor.
On the top floor there is a large room with 4 built-in bunks and a double bed which is particularly good for children, with a huge black board, pin board and table football.

Reduction of 5% per week for more than one week (whole weeks). Booking deposit is £250 per week, non refundable in high season (June-September). The balance is payable within 2 weeks or immediately if the date of the stay is within 4 weeks of booking. Damages deposit £300 refundable within 2 weeks of end of stay.
Includes basic food basket on arrival.
Maximum capacity is 15 depending on the adult and children numbers. Please inquire if more than 10 adults.
Includes bed linen, pool towels and house towels service per booking. Any additional change bed linen /towels required are charged at 15 euros per head.
Any extra days are charged pro rata.
Can arrange cook at additional cost if required.
Includes electricity etc. Weekend/ individual nights priced according to numbers staying so please enquire.

About the neighbourhood
Siran itself has a local bar/cafe where you can sit outside under the strung-up light bulbs and sometimes listen to local musicians playing. There is a shop, a post office and a tiny boulangerie in the village, just around the corner from the house. Just out side the village is a 13th Century church which is a pretty walk away.

Olonzac is 10 minutes away. It is the 'capital' of the region where there are several bars and restaurants and a large lively market every Tuesday for all local produce. There is also a large supermarket here.
