Superb self catering accomadation. Enjoy your meals sitting at the dining table in the large sunroom overlooking the sea. Both the kitchen and the sitting room have multi fuel burning stoves, perfect for relaxing beside with a good book and glass of wine. The kitchen, with its comfortable window seat, is well equipped with a great mix of cookery books. The sitting room has an excellent selection of books, DVDs and CDs. The upstairs bedroom has a kingsize bed and is wonderful for star gazing.There is an upstairs wc and ground floor bathroom.Both ground floor bedrooms have double beds and bunk beds. The cottage is spacious and bright. Built in the 1940s it is full of character and charm, refurbished tastefully in 2006 it is warm and welcoming.There are plenty of board games and playing cards...Superb self catering accomadation. About the neighbourhood
The nearby village of Castlecove is also known as An Siopa Dubh, which translates to The Black Shop, where there is small pub. Nearby is Staigue Fort House which has a visitor centre, B&B and pub. The village has a shop, garage, post office and church. The Kerry Way passes through the area and is a great route for walking. At over 200km, it is one of Ireland's longest signposted walking trails. The walk passes through some of the most isolated and dramatic countryside in Ireland. The nearby Staigue Fort is one of the largest and finest ring forts in Ireland. It at the back of a valley surrounded by an amphitheatre of rugged hills with fabulous open views to the Kenmare Bay to the south.
