Happisburgh, Norfolk, East Anglia, England
A pet friendly brick and flint cottage in the heart of Happisburgh on the Norfolk coast. Lovely comfortable cottage. Well kept and provides everything one could need. We were welcomed with a lovely cream tea left for us by the super friendly (but non-intrusive) owner. A great base from which to explore the lovely area.

About the neighbourhood
The village itself is now famous for the oldest evidence of human activity outside of Africa with footprints discovered on the beach to be over 900,000 years old.

The cosy local pub, within 50 meters of the cottage, echoes the local connection with Sherlock Holmes author Arthur Conan Doyle who visited many times and wrote one of the detective mysteries here.

In fact the local villagers will proudly boast of the number of other illustratrious visitors who have been drawn to this unique place from Robinson Cruso author Daniel Defoe, cricketer W.C. Grace, sculptors Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth, poet John Betjeman, writer PD James and even the Queen Mother once arriving by helocopter to visit a cousin who lived in the village.

The village is a must for those who enjoy the English countr...
