This is a newly built, absolute gem of a cottage which is set just back from the waterfront with some Solent views. A delightful detached property fitted to the highest quality and standards. Comfortably sleeps up to 7 people in flexible accommodation to suit single or double occupancy. Bedrooms are set up as 1 double with doors that open onto the front terrace, 1 double or twin, and the whole of the 1st floor is set up as a spacious double or twin bedroom with additional single sofabed and some Solent views. We had a wonderful stay at Carlton Cottage. Location was ideal for exploring the island and the cottage was very well equipped and had everything we could possibly need. Jean was the perfect hostess, recommending attractions/beaches and providing outdoor toys for our two young boys during the unexpected hot weather. We are already recommending the Island and cottage to friends...

The owner was lovely and made sure we were all ok. The Cottage was really nice. We don't usually do cottages as have our own Motorhome so was not sure how we would get on. I loved it! Jean was an absolutely superb hostess who would go out of her way to ensure our stay was as enjoyable as possible. The cottage was in a pristine condition when we arrived and was extremely well equipped. Absolutely nothing to complain about!

Cowes is well known as the UK's premier yaching centre and in the season bustles with sailors from all over the world. The High Street is free of traffic throughout the day and is home to many individual shops, restaurants, cafes, boutiques and art galleries.

A chain-ferry across the Medina River links West to East Cowes where a visit to Osborne House, the holiday residence of Queen Victoria, is a 'must do' trip.

Public tennis courts are in the grounds of nearby Northwood House
Cycle hire is available in the High Street
Sailing courses are run throughout the year (prior booking is essential)
