The nearest railway station is at Southampton Central (1hr 20mins from London Waterloo). From Southampton Central there is a free 'City Link' bus which will take you to Town Quay where you board the 'Red Jet' for a 25 minute transfer to West Cowes. Alternatively, a taxi from Southampton Central to Town Quay will cost about £8. On arrival in Cowes, The Yachtsman is a 500m walk from the ferry terminal, or taxis are freely available at the terminal.

By Car:

There are car ferries operated by Red Funnel (www.redfunnel.co.uk) from Southampton to East Cowes and by Wightlink (www.wightlink.co.uk) from Portsmouth to Fishbourne and from Lymington to Yarmouth.
