About the neighbourhood
Whitstable is famous for its oysters which have been collected since Roman times and are on sale from one of the stalls in the harbour. It has one of very few remaining working harbours with a small fleet of fishing boats - you can buy fresh fish straight from the catch. It has a pretty coastline where you can enjoy a stroll or take to the water or just sit and experience spectacular sunsets over the sea. Whitstable is renowned for its trendy shops and art galleries and excellent restaurants as well as a large selection of pubs and bars catering for all tastes. Whistable has something for everyone and you will want to come back again and again to this seaside haven, just over one hour from London. The historic cathedral city of Canterbury is only 6 miles away with its interesting medieval...
How to get there
By car just over 1 hour from London. By train there is a good service from London stations of Stratford International or Victoria. The cottage is about a 20 minute walk from the station. Alternatively there is a good taxi service operating from the station.
