Another fantastic stay at the Bakehouse. The property is simply lovely, and perfectly situated for both the beach and town centre. You could not want for a better host than Virginia. Highly recommended.

A lovely clean place to stay in the centre of Whitstable which is perfect for two people. The accomodation is compact but not cramped. We will definitely stay again at the Bakehouse soon. I would strongly recommend the Bakehouse for a relaxing break.

About the neighbourhood
Whitstable is a seaside town in Northeast Kent, Southeast England. It is approximately 8 kilometres north of the city of Canterbury and approximately 3 kilometres west of the seaside town of Herne Bay. It is part of the City of Canterbury district. Whitstable is famous for its oysters, which have been collected in the area since at least Roman times. The town itself dates back to before the writing of the Domesday Book. Whitstable's distinctive character is popular with tourists, and its maritime heritage is celebrated with the annual oyster festival. Freshly caught shellfish are available throughout the year at several seafood restaurants and pubs in the town. The longest established event is the Regatta which has moved from the original Whitstable to Tankerton for more land based events ...
Getting around
Whitstable is a popular seaside town which can get extremely busy. The easiest way to get around Whitstable itself is to walk or cycle. There is a very good bus service which makes it easy to get to Canterbury or Herne Ba. Should you wish to visit Birchington or Margate this is easy by train.
