Beautiful Self Catering Holiday Cottage

The Cottage is located at Brownlow Farm, Twiston; 1.5 miles to the village of Barley and about 2 miles to the delightful village of Downham, home of Born and Bred.

There are few properties with such a superb outlook over the Ribble Valley and Yorkshire Dales. From the cottage you can see the magnificent peaks of Pen-Y-Ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside, as well as the Trough and Forest of Bowland .

Lovingly renovated from dereliction in 2007/8 this luxurious 4 bedroom holiday home is an “upside down” house and offers some surprises. Full of modern conveniences yet retaining 200 years of character in its design.

The cottage is accessed via a private track and through a field, and has parking for 3 – 4 vehicles. There is a terraced garden area and a paved patio area for enjoying the peace and tra...

Great cottage - warm and cosy with fabulous views of the valley. Very rural - ideal base for walking around Pendle witch country. Good pubs nearby. Can't wait to go back.

Very enjoyable long weekend with 4 friends. Absolutely stunning spot, doubt you will find better if you like it rural. Very well considered renovation. Very warm so bring your 'comfies' when you have finished any outdoor activities. Great local walks - Pendle Hill being the 'very' visible one. Top pubs and restaurants nearby although probably a drive unless you are...

Thanks James, glad you had a good time, and yep, if people stay in winter we always say 4 x 4's recommended. No one can move round Twiston if it snows, not even the snow ploughs. Part of the charm....... haha! unless you need to get to work. Come again anytime, always welcome

Our family descended on Throstle Hall for a week this summer. It provided us with excellent family accommodation, and was suitable for the 4 and 6 year old children with us. It is a private setting; being down in a dip, the houses just above are out of sight, and you really feel away from it all, even though the...
