Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Excellent stay at Little Cobblestone
The cottage is in excellent condition and as clean and well presented when we arrived. The instructions from the owners were helpful and easy to follow - with a good wi-fi connection. Close to the marketplace, and with private parking, the cottage is very convenient for shopping and easy to access much of the historic town centre on foot. All of the faclities in the cottage are relatively new and the decor is in excellent condition.

Chilled out week
Recently returned from a week stay at ‘Little Cobblestone’ Richmond the cottage was lovely and cosy and had everything we required. Ideally situated for the market square and the added bonus of having our own parking space. Lovely walks on the doorstep. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great guests who are welcome back anytime. We were happy to respond to a request for an additional parking space for a weekend visitor.

Perfect !
A perfect location, a quiet square with a secret door into the market place ! Next door to the Georgian Theatre, lovely cafes and restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Walks along the river are beautiful and the castle is a must see. The cottage is perfect for a small family, modern, clean and homely. Everything we needed was there on arrival, bread butter ,milk and teabags! These small touches make a big difference. We would definitely recommend Little Cobblestone .

A home from home!
We loved our stay at the Little Cobblestone. It has an ideal location for exploring Richmond town, the castle and surrounding areas. We enjoyed mooching around the town which has a mix of local independent shops /bars and your more well known places, like Gregs. We liked strolling down the (rather steep) hill to the swimming pool, cinema and ice cream place and then the river walk to Easby Abbey. The cottage itself was really cosy and had everything we needed. We went with our two small children (11 months and nearly 3) and it was perfect for them. It was great to have the lounge and kitchen as one area so we could all be together whilst cooking etc. The bedrooms had very comfy beds, plenty of storage space and black out blinds. The only slight thing was that the floor was quite creaky upstairs. The owners were also lovely and responded rapidly to emails. They have gone above and beyond in what they have provided in the cottage, with lots of things like hand mixers, foil and soap. In conclusion we loved the Little Cobblestone and have already booked to visit again in the summer.

Sarah and her family were a joy to host and we are delighted they have re-booked so soon after visiting. We aim to make all our guests as comfortable as possible, but we recognise the creaky floor upstairs is not everyone's idea of a cottage character feature. We inherited the creaks and squeaks when we bought the cottage two years ago (poor installation when the cottage was newly built in 2012). As part of planned maintenance, we have already planned to replace all upstairs carpeting in 2019 and at that time undertake work to completely re-lay all the floors. As Sarah says, this is a "slight thing", but our aim is maintain high standards and make improvements that cause the least inconvenience to our guests.

Pat and Russell deserve a medal for making the trip to Richmond from the Red Rose county during a period of seriously difficult winter weather. We kept in touch before the booking and were able to relate local weather and road conditions. We made sure that the pathways into the cottage were swept of snow and gritted. The close proximity of our cottage to the town centre and its facilities pays dividends throughout the year, but especially when snow and icy conditions make it rather more sensible to explore all that the town has to offer on foot, including the local hostelries. Bev and I are delighted Pat and Russell enjoyed their stay. We hope it not too long before they return.

About the neighbourhood
The best thing about our cottage is its central location in the heart of Richmond Town itself, with private parking. All local amenities are literally a stone's throw away.
Getting around
The easiest way to see Richmond Town itself is on foot. There are many local landmarks, beauty spots and also many picturesque walks on the doorstep. The Dales and surrounding areas are easily accessible by bus from the adjoining market place or by car. Taxis are plentiful and also operate from the market place. A car is only recommended to help you travel further afield.

How to get there
Our cottages have their own private parking and lie in the very heart of Richmond Town. Access is by a private road off Victoria Road, located between The rear entrance to The Black Lion Hotel and The Fleece, or directly from the town's market place by a "secret door". Richmond is served by excellent transport links with buses running locally from the adjoining market place. The nearest railway station is Darlington and Newcastle or Leeds/Bradford airports are a reasonable car journey away.
