Lovely little place to stay in Richmond for a few days.
Ticked all the boxes, clean, well equipped, cosy, warm, very close to the cobbled square with plenty of shops, cafes and pubs. Having parking was also a big bonus even if we did come back from a day out to find someone had parked in our allocated spot and had been there all afternoon so we had to park elsewhere.
Lovely walks in the area and several castles worth a visit.
Thanks for the bread, milk and butter a really nice touch. Plenty of leaflets also with ideas for visits and walks.
Thanks for letting us use your second home.

Best of the best
We have just arrived home after a 3 night stay over the new year at the lovely place of richmond. We stayed in 2cs cottage and couldn't have asked for more. The cottage is spotless with everything you could possibly need. There was a welcome pack of bread milk etc along with a few extras. The location is perfect for everything and very quite. Added bonus is the private parking. We would highly recommend this place although we would rather selfishly keep it for ourselves. We will definitely be returning. Richmond has lots to offer plenty of lovely walks eateries and pubs ( some very cheap) and very welcoming local people.

Excellent accommodation with parking
If you want spotlessly clean, comfortable accommodation in Richmond, look no further than this cottage. It has the added bonus of designated parking, a rarity in Richmond. The customer service is faultless, and the cottage is convenient [within walking distance] for most attractions in the vicinity of the town, with many other wonderful attractions within a short car drive. We would not hesitate to recommend this cottage to couples or a family with older children.

Great cottage
Sorry I have took so long to write this review. We had a fantastic stay at 2cs, the perfect location (with Narnia door to the square). The cottage is modern with everything you need. Very comfortable upstairs and down. Lots of places to eat and drink, with a great Saturday market. the old station is great, a brewery, a bakery, a ice cream parlour, a gallery and a great little cinema. also a wonderful walk from there that goes In a loop, and brings in a ruined priory. thanks for a great stay, will be back in 2019 hopefully in May or June this time. :-)

So pleased you enjoyed your stay and are thinking of visiting us again in 2019. Richmond and its surroundings have so much to offer. Don't forget we also own the cottage next door, Little cobblestone, so double the availability for you, family and friends. Bev and I look forward to welcoming you back.

Excellent accommodation
Excellent accommodation, everything you need is provided including a welcome pack to get you started. Amazing location, just a minute through the "door" into the square and all the shops, bars and restaurants. Personal parking place is a great bonus. Hope to stay again in the future.

Modern cottage in ideal location near to town centre
We stayed a week in this modern very well-equipped cottage. It is literally just off the main square in Richmond so ideally located. There is a parking space for the cottage although we didn't have a car with us. It is ideal for 2, or perhaps 2 plus 2 children - I think it might be a little small for 4 adults. It was good to have a few items - milk/bread/tea already there when we arrived. We would certainly stay again.

The cottage was easy to find, thanks to the fantastic directions Mike sent through before the holiday. Spotlessly clean and well equipped - everything you needed was provided. The wifi signal was strong and the internet was fast. Although the cottage is in the town centre, it was so quiet. Very convenient for the shops, through the "secret door" into the market place. No problems with parking as there's an allocated space.

Our cottage is centrally located in the heart of Richmond itself. All local amenities are a stone's throw away. The historic cobbled market place with its imposing Norman castle keepare key attractions and local military and social history museums are close by . Local shops, pubs and restaurants are in abundance and there are spectacular walks below the town along the river Swale and above the town through surrounding woodland and over open moors.
Getting around
Richmond is suited to walking, cycling and touring by car. Its close proximity to Darlington and Northallerton give it excellent rail national rail connections with regular bus services to local destinations and beyond. Local taxis are plentiful.

How to get there
Our guests receive detailed information about the cottage and where to find it, prior to their arrival. The cottage has its own private parking space, but a car isn't necessary for exploring the town of Richmond and local attractions, including some spectacular walks.
A car is essential to explore The Dales and the wider area, although Richmond has good transport links with regular bus services and connections to main line rail services at Darlington (12miles) and Northallerton (16miles).
