Lovely cottage
Stayed for 4 nights for the February half term with our two children. The cottage was great. Very clean, well resourced and a nice remote location. A car is needed, but lots of local pubs for dinner and a 15 minute drive to seahouses. Very local to family attractions such as bamburgh castle, and because we visited in February the beaches were very quiet. Northumberland is a wonderful place and this cottage was perfect for us. We 100% return when we get chance.

A lovely clean, comfortable, well equipped and nicely decorated country cottage.
While staying at Shearling Cottage for a week in June, we particularly enjoyed the peace and quiet, the lovely countryside views surrounding the cottage, watching the cattle from the living room window and house martins nesting near the rear gate. Sofas and beds were comfortable, with good quality bed linen. Eating in the evenings in the kitchen was very pleasant with the sun shining through the window. The well equipped dining kitchen is ideal for a self-catering holiday. Sitting outside at the rear of the cottage enjoying the sunshine was enjoyable too. Carters the butchers in Bamburgh, supply delicious ready made quiche and mince pies baked by Trotters the bakers in Seahouses, useful for nice easy to prepare meals in the cottage! There is a Deli next door to the butchers. Food shopping at the Co-op in Seahouses was convenient while parked in the newer Station Car Park Extension, which has easy access to the main shopping street. The Tourist Information Office and Toilets are at the entrance to the same car park. A car is necessary when staying at the cottage. It is only a ten to fifteen minute drive to Seahouses and Bamburgh and easy access to the A1. For visits to and walking along the beach at Bamburgh, there are free parking areas in the dunes along The Wynding (the road to Bamburgh Castle Golf Course). I would highly recommend Shearling Cottage to visitors with a car, who enjoy staying in the countryside, visiting the seaside towns/villages nearby and have easy access to the A1.

Perfect, idyllic accommodation
Wonderfully comfortable and well equipped cottage in extremely quiet location, which was in the perfect place to explore all the delights and wonders of the Northumberland coastline. Although it was just me and the dog, the cottage would have been more than suitable for 4 people and had everything included that made my stay a perfect week. A lovely rural setting, yet incredibly easy access to the A1 and only 5/6 miles from the beaches. Would not hesitate to recommend or book again!

Amazing few days at Shearling Cottage
We had a really lovely stay here. The cottage is immaculate, cosy and in a beautiful part of Northumberland. Everything in the cottage was extremely clean and it has everything you could possibly need. The coastal walks are fantastic and there are plenty of pubs / restaurants near by which all do amazing food - the Potted Lobster, the Pack horse and the Apple Inn to name a few. Thank you Victoria! A cosy, dog friendly cottage in a great location
Visited last week for a 4 night break - from booking to arrival Victoria was helpful and responded quickly to queries. On arrival cottage was clean and welcoming, with the treats as outlined by others much appreciated - wine, eggs and cookies ! We have not been to the area before, so had a lovely time exploring the beaches and coastline - we couldn't get over how amazing the beaches are, which were generally deserted and very clean. We ventured out for a couple of meals , enjoying St. Aidens bistro, and then ate in a couple of nights - kitchen well equipped for preparing meals. I have to mention the beds - really comfy with lovely linen. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return - so much to see and do in the area.

Comfy & Cosy
We had a great weekend at Shearling Cottage, it was ideal for a relaxing break to explore Northumberland. Victoria arranged for us at very short notice, was very helpful and communicative, and left us delicious home baking and farm eggs on arrival. The cottage was spotless and cosy, with a stove (fuel provided), and a small walled garden which was very handy if you have a dog. In a very quiet rural location, but close to Bamburgh, Seahouses, and the beautiful Northumberland coast, also within walking distance of several great (dog friendly) eating/drinking establishments, we would highly recommend Shearling Cottage, and hope to return soon.
