Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A great stay
A wonderful little place with beautiful views of Holy island. We stayed 4 nights and we're never wanting for things to do and left with plenty more still to see. The hut is very well decorated and has everything you need nearly packaged. We fell in love with Bamburgh which is no more than 10 minutes down the road, the castle is awe inspiring, the beach although a bit tricky to get onto at points is warm and even in mid August during a heatwave was not crowded. We would fully recommend the Victoria hotel and bar for dining, the food was very high quality and for a place that accepts walk ins (no need to book a table) and dogs we cannot sing it's praises enough. Having never really looked north when booking holidays we didn't know what to expect but had come away knowing we will certainly return in future.

Outstanding Northumberland shepherd’s hut
Fantastic stay at Shearling Shepherd’s Hut - wonderful location with a stupendous view, perfect amenities, and a warm and accommodating host who was a great communicator. We’re booking a couple of trips next year, just an all-round outstanding experience - one of our best holidays ever!

Peaceful break
Our 2nd time staying at the Shepherds hut and another lovely break .It’s so peaceful and has everything you need, The little welcome gift is greatly appreciated with all of the information of things to do and what is nearby Situated a short drive from Bamburgh and Seahouses. We’ve also gone to Alnwick and Berwick on both trips .Victoria has been so good both times with communication .Would highly recommended and we’ll definitely stay again.

Perfect break
Like the majority of us this year we’re holidaying in the UK,this shepherds hut was recommended by a work colleague. I emailed Victoria who I have to say was absolutely fantastic ,communication was brilliant. When we arrived at the hut there was a lovely welcome letter and a bottle of wine & cookies. The hut is nicely decorated and lovely and homely. We used the fire on a few occasions as it was a little chilly ,but you can’t expect anything else given the time of year. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was great although the sink was quite small. The views were amazing and we loved watching the rabbits in the garden. Would definitely like to go again sometime.

Peaceful coastal retreat
We stayed in the shepherds hut for a mini break this August and couldn’t have been happier. Victoria is a wonderful host & provided all the information we needed for a lovely stay. The hut was immaculately clean & presented beautifully with views to the sea. It’s close to some of the most pristine beaches I’ve ever seen as well as some lovely pubs & places to eat. We’re already planning a return visit, don’t hesitate to book this gorgeous shepherds hut, you won’t regret it!

Lovely little cottage
Had a superb couple of nights here. Extremely quiet and comfortable. Although the space is compact, everything is so well designed that it works very well.

Quality accommodation
We originally booked this for the end of March to celebrate a birthday. Covid had other plans so we waited for the first opportunity and came back early July. Firstly have to say how well they handled the change of dates, great service. The Shepherd's hut is beautifully equipped with quality equipment, everything you could need and storage everywhere for your belongings. Self catering requirements for us are normally pretty basic but as we are still wary of eating out we managed to cater for ourselves very well in the kitchen of the hut. The location is really handy for Holy Island, Bamburgh and Seahouses plenty to explore. A really lovely place, we were sad to leave.

Perfect Location
The hut had so much charm and was a cosey nest even with the cold air outside. The location was perfect near Bamburgh beach and sea views. We had a nice welcome pack on arrival with a bottle of wine and some local produce and enjoyed that with the fire pit in the evening.
