Woodys Lodge has a large dining table with a corner seating arrangement is located at the rear of the property allowing guests to entertain, relax and chat to those that may be taking a dip in the hot tub. In the morning, why not sit at the front of the lodge and soak up the early morning sunshine with breakfast outdoors. The south facing lodge can be a little sun trap, so don't forget the sun cream. The interior of the property is immaculate, modern and bright and airy. We have just had a new hallway entrance put in, new seats for the dining table, new fireplace and we are about to put in new carpets throughout and replace the sofas. Woodys Lodge sleeps comfortably six adults and can accommodate up to 8 for those that have small children. ( an additional charge for extra linen). All modern luxuries have been thought of, the property boasts a pod coffee machine, SKY TV, (including sports and movies), FREE Wi-Fi, board games for adults and children, books, bed linen, towels (one large bath towel and one small hand towel per person). A nice welcome basket is provided and the owners can provide additional services such as transport for groups to various places around Northumberland. Advance notice is required for this service. Dog friendly property at no additional charge (maximum 2 unless smaller breeds - do enquire). We provide a complimentary unlimited WiFi package (not for downloading or streaming). The location and occupancy levels of the park does sometimes mean the Internet access can be somewhat limited but the vast majority of guests have had no issues. On site, we have the Crazy Horse Saloon Bar & Grill. It provides a varied menu consisting of the usual bar food and restaurant food you would normally find, they also offer a takeout service too! Highly recommend their pizzas! For kids, there is a brand new games room on the basement level of the Crazy Horse Saloon, there are pool tables, air- hockey table, darts board and smaller activities for little children. The outdoor Play Ground over at Bockenfield can be accessed via the foot bridge by the lake. There is a pirates ship and zip wire. The Time Out Tavern which is located next to the Pirate Ship, also does food and has a small shop (sells essential items such as milk, cereal, toilet roll etc). Both venues have a range of entertainment activities for kids during the holidays, they also have bingo nights and LIVE Music most weekends. Next to the Park we are very lucky to have Northumberland Zoo on our doorstep as well as Eshott Airfield. Both are great for a visit and they both have a small cafe too for refreshments. Whether your into planes or animals, there's definitely a day trip to be planned! Please note that we operate different breaks, so for e.g. we operate a Monday or Friday check in, mid week availability is based on a Mon - Fri (4 nights - same price as a weekend), Fri - Sun or Monday and a weekly price. This website cannot accommodate the differences in breaks, so please do ask for a quote. Due to the seasonal prices it is best to contact us for an accurate and up to date price.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.

Fabulous lodge
A lovely, clean, welcoming lodge with all amenities and large hot tub. Lodge was spacious, a home from home with lovely furnishings. We loved to sit on the veranda as it was a sun trap. Hot tub was clean, hot and well maintained. Kids had a fab time with the board games available and the bonus of having a TV in each of the bedrooms. Welcome hamper is a lovely personal touch. We will be back again.

Fab girls weekend
We booked the lodge for a girly weekend away after our usual foreign trip away fell through. We had a great few days, the lodge is huge and immaculate and comfortably slept 8. It literally has everything you could want, nothing has been forgotten. A real home from home. The hot tub was the highlight and amazing outdoor area for sitting in the sun if you’re lucky enough to get good weather. Nicola and Mel were great hosts and a lovely welcome pack was provided on arrival which was a nice touch. We also got our deposit back on the day of checkout which was a nice surprise as with other companies I’ve waited a week or more. First class we will Defintely be back :)!

Home away from Home
There isn’t enough words to explain the experience we have had here in Woodys’Lodge!! Everything about it was amazing. The decor, the beds were so so comfy, kitchen was full everything needed, dishwasher & a washer / dryer. Mel & Nicola even provided us with dishwasher tablets and washing pods. The welcome basket was such a lovely surprise & the bottle of prosecco didn’t last long ;) The hot tub was so relaxing and at night when I’m everything was lit up beautiful! Lots of little beaches to visit around, Alnwick castle stunning, villages and beauty spots & Northumberland Country Zoo. Nothing was far far away! The crazy horse Saloon club house on site was cosy and relaxed, the food was 2nd to non! I had what I can only say as the best fillet steak I have had in a long time!! Mel & Nicola thought of everything in detail. We loved it so much we booked an extra night! We WILL be back!! Xxx

3rd Visit to Woodys Lodge
We have stayed here three times and once at Stag Lodge just across the lane. The lodge is 5 star. Well equipped, high quality fixtures and fittings. We dropped lucky with the weather so spent most evenings sitting out on the deck. The park has a little bar which welcomes well behaved dogs they also serve good quality food. This visit we saw the new restaurant just opened next to the bar. Understandably they don’t allow dogs in that area. We will be back here as the park is nice Northumberland is a beautiful county but most important we just love the lodges. Mel and the team are bend over backwards helpful and are always on hand with any advice etc. I would certainly recommend Woodys.

Perfect, peaceful relaxation.
We can't recommend this place highly enough. From the moment we arrived and were greeted with a lovely welcome hamper to checking out, we were relaxed and looked after. The lodge has everything you need and more for an amazing break away and we will most certainly be returning.

About the neighbourhood
Woodys Lodge is located on Felmoor Country Park, it's situated between Morpeth and Alnwick. It's a central place to explore Northumberland's castles, heritage sites, beaches and local attractions. Coming SOON Europes largest Childrens Magical Village (Lilidorei) at Alnwick Gardens. Local shops can be found in Felton just a couple of minutes drive away and you will also find an award winning cafe called The Running Fox, which does incredible afternoon teas. Directly opposite you will find Northumberland Arms, a lovely traditional but recently refurbished country pub serving local fresh produce. Alnwick is a mere 15 minutes away, explore the gardens, castle and town centre. Craster, Bamburgh, Amble, Seahouses are fantastic places to visit.
Getting around
Some of our guests who are more local to the area choose to get dropped off and spend a quiet weekend in the lodge without setting foot outside of the country park. For most though, it's a great base to explore Northumberland so a car is definitely required. There are local taxi's available, but it's advisable to book in advance. Lee Scott who also works on the park (not everyday) is also a taxi driver so dependent upon journey, you may wish to contact him to discuss any potential trips.

How to get there
From the South, follow the signs to Morpeth (North) on the A1. After Morpeth continue and after approximately 10 minutes (7 miles) on the right hand side of the road you will see a sign for Eshotthelm, continue to drive on and shortly after you will see a sign called Eshottheugh. We are located on the right hand side just down the bank from Eshottheugh. A yellow jerky van can be seen most days, this is your guide. There is also a brand new entrance with a sign that welcomes you to Felmoor Country Park. The Three Words for lodge location is ///unzips.rents.escorting
