About the neighbourhood
The River Thames is close by for fishing and boating and the local pub The Barley Mow (as mentioned in Three Men and a Boat by Jerome K Jerome) is a short walk away and serves local beers and food with an enclosed garden. Getting around
There is a small railway station (Culham) about 15 minutes walk from the cottage which is useful for trains into Oxford and which run every 2 hours or so.
It is also possible to get trains to London but it is a slow route taking up to 90 minutes, so it can be quicker to travel first to Didcot Parkway or Oxford station (via train or car) and then catch the express train, which only takes about 40 minutes. There is a long stay car park at Didcot.
