Comfortable well-equipped property. Nice and warm when the weather had turned a bit colder. Lovely views. Well placed for touring local places of interest. The pub - a few minutes walk away, serves great food. Had a great time there.

About the neighbourhood
We are based some seven miles (11 kilometers) from the picturesque market town of Bridgnorth, the village is the home of the pub restaurant The Red Cow. Convenient for both Wolverhampton and Telford, this rural retreat is surrounded by open fields and views. It also shares its territory with Badger Dingle, which is a wooded area with a lake often visited by walkers and hikers. Ackleton has some modern houses mixed with small quaint cottages and three large properties Ackleton House, Ackleton Hall and Ackleton Manor. There are a network of footpaths very close to the Little Barn which are great for walking or hiking. At the back of the property is a 6 acre field which are welcome to stroll around.
Getting around
You will need your own transport to get to us. The nearest town Bridgnorth, is in reality, two towns: the High Town (good views down) and the Low Town (good views up). Now connected by the steepest inland funicular railway in Britain the Low Town was once a thriving port along the banks of the River Severn, while the High Town held the castle, the churches, and many fine 16th and 17th century mansions. Charles I, lost his head here completely, declaring the view to be - 'the finest in all my kingdom.' For more energetic visitors you can amble up one of the seven sets of steps, or the steep old Cartway, where goods were once hauled to the market above. The carts are gone, but the markets remain. Antiques and local produce are particular spec
