The location is ideal for seeing all the fantastic sights. Three pubs all within walking distance. Bristol well worth a visit, as is the Rowde locks. Stourhead a definite must. Owners very friendly and available if needed. Loved the Red wine left for us.

About the neighbourhood
Rode is a very pretty, stone built village dating back to the 1600s. It offers three pubs in walking distance, a bus service to Bath and Frome and a thriving Post Office and store. It is surrounded by pretty countryside with some lovely walks immediately on the doorstep including the long distance footpath, the MacMillan Way. The Wiltshire Cycle Way also passes through Rode taking cyclists routes along quieter roads and lanes.

Rode itself is also known for the infamous murder case back in Victorian England for which "The Suspicions of Mr Whicher" was written.

Nearby towns include the very pretty, honey coloured Bradford on Avon with plenty of tea rooms, shops, restaurants/pubs and the Kennet and Avon canal passing through.
