I can't praise the sweet hills high enough. 3 days of beautiful peaceful surroundings. The gardens are amazing. Plenty of shared places to sit plus your own private area with barbecue that we made use of on 2 nights. Weather was kind and was lovely to relax after a hectic day at Alton towers. My 5 year old loved it....

Alton is noted for the theme park Alton Towers, built around the site of Alton Mansion (also named Alton Abbey or Alton Towers), which was owned by the Earls of Shrewsbury. The village is located on the eastern side of the Churnet valley.
