This pretty terraced cottage on Romans Landing in West Wittering is a short stroll to the sandy beaches, looks over the Crabbing Pond, and adjoins Snowhill Creek. The cottage brims with charm and character, has a sunny coast-facing garden for al fresco weather, and an enclosed patio to the rear. The cottage has three bedrooms, one of which is a bunk bedroom. Located on the National Trust's East Head, this coastguard's cottage is in an idyllic spot and is a beautiful getaway retreat. There is limited parking for one car in the private road outside the property. Sleeps 6. Near the beach. WiFi. No smoking. No pets, sorry. Linen is included

Very Special.

Thank you so much for the use of your cottage for our family holiday. We really loved it, and felt very spoilt to be so close to one of the most beautiful of beaches. We valued greatly the splendid walks and beautiful sky visors in particular. We loved how cared for the cottage was. The facilities were excellent and the place exuded great charm and thought. The lock on the front door was challenging, something that seemed well known to the letting agent. Thank you once again, a beautiful part of the world we intend to keep returning to. Xx Judy.

Wonderful Wittering!

The location of this pretty cottage was excellent. The interior was good but shame it didn't have a shower. Sheets & Towels should be included in the price along with basic supplies i.e. soap. kitchen towel . dishwasher tablets etc

Delightful cottage in great location

Some friends and I stayed here for a few days and had a wonderful 'get-away-from-it-all break. The cottage is extremely cosy and comfortable and the kitchen is really well equipped with everything we needed to make dinner when we wanted to have a quiet evening in after exploring the walks beside the sea. It is in an extraordinary location - a short walk took us to the stunning West Wittering beach and each time we walked around the headland we were struck by how beautiful it was. We were also able to walk around the coastline to Bosham, and enjoy a delicious lunch at The Anchor Bleu. We all slept so well!! Would definitely recommend and we'll be back.

We are so pleased to know that you had a great holiday, we would agree, the beach and National Trust 'East Head' are absolutely stunning. We wondered if you used the small pedestrian ferry from Itchenor across to Bosham Hoe otherwise it would have been a very long walk or maybe you are just very fit!

Quaint and clean but not worth the money

My husband and I rented the cottage to take our 2 children and grandparents as the cottage says it sleeps 6 -unfortunately it is just not big enough. There is one bathroom with no usable shower which meant 6 people having to queue up for a bath at the end of the day on the beach. There was shower attachment but no shower curtain or even a bath mat. Lots of basic things missing such as a freezer (even a small one for ice would have been nice), a washing machine but nowhere to hang clothes, one wardrobe for six people. The stairs are unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues and the front door was not easy to open- There were lots of minor things wrong but the estate agent we rented from did not seem very interested in dealing with any of them.

Thank you for taking the time to place a review. We are sorry that you felt that the property was not large enough for your use, we do state on our website that there is only one bathroom and that this has a hand held shower attachment rather than a mains operated separate shower. Regarding your feedback of the agents, we always set out to rectify any problems as soon as is possible, we passed on your comments to the owner but her wish is for the property to remain a cottage, albeit quirky. We ask that we are notified immediately of any issues and where we are able to deal directly with a problem this is usually done immediately. Unfortunately, due to the misreading of a message, we thought initially that you had finished your holiday rather than still being there, there was consequently a days delay. We really hope that you still had a lovely holiday in this beautiful area and will not be put off by this experience but will return in the future perhaps to a slightly larger property more suited to your requirements.

A fabulous place to stay

This cottage was so much better than we expected. My friend and I both stayed with our sons for a week. The location was excellent. It was so close to the beach and the crabbing pool. We walked to Itchenor along the coast. A fabulous long walk to wear out the boys. We had a pub lunch at The Ship which was reasonable & delicious before we walked back. The rooms were clean and we had the linen service. Great kitchen and bathroom. The living room was relaxing. There is a front garden and rear patio area. Happily the cottage had WiFi which was useful for all of us! The pictures do not do it justice, book it, you will not be disappointed. So much to do, we will be back!
