The cottage is well equipped with everything needed to make it the perfect base to explore this breathtaking area with comfortable furniture, high quality beds, and European down comforters. Beautiful Landscape paintings of the area, painted by the owners father, and other international art give the place an artsy ambient. An extra remodeled Barn attached to the house functions as a game and kids room that is shared by both cottages but can be exclusively used by either property for $50/night. The famous Painted Hills are only 15 minutes away by car, and the other 2 units of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, the Sheep Rock and the Clarno Rock Formations, are between 40 and 70 minutes away by car driving along fantastic scenic bye way routes to get there. The entire surrounding area is spectacular with its amazing views at every turn. It’s a real geological wonderland and there is so much to explore and experience.
