The Happy Clam is a stylish comfortable home with walls of windows, including a two story great room. This makes for wonderful viewing of the water and sky. Inspiring in any kind of weather. The location is ideal:

Amazing house to stay in on the coast
This was the second time we stayed at the Happy Clam and everything was amazing. The views are spectacular from all the windows. The beds and pillows are the most comfortable we have ever used. The pier to go crabbing is within walking distance from the house. The house is stocked with everything you would need and more. Gary does a great job with communication before and during the stay. We plan to come back every year.

A perfect home for our family Christmas reunion!
The Happy Clam was a great place to stay over the Christmas holiday! Our two families, 12 people, had lots of room to sleep, play games and open presents!
The kitchen was very well equipped and we could cook a fine Christmas dinner and many different kinds of meals. As far as places to go, since it was very snowy and rainy, we stayed cozy inside. We did enjoy going to some of the brew pubs and the outlet mall in Lincoln City. The Happy Clam gave us lots of places to explore, nice view of bridge and water and lots flexibility in rooms/beds to sleep. We were very comfortable and felt very safe in this COVID world as Gary was very thorough in making sure the home was clean and ready for guests. All in all, an lovely place to stay on the coast in Oregon.

Accommodation and Location cannot be beat.
Our family spent the our Thanksgiving Vacation at this lovely home. We cooked most of our meals and found the place to be very well stocked for cooking for a crowd.
The location was outstanding. We cheered on the Turkey Trotters from our balcony deck as they passed by twice. Great fun. Thank you Sherie and Gary for all your assistance. Would choose this place again.

Amazing
This was an absolute beauty,loved the bridge and the neighborhood was quite .... The house was extraordinary.... There we're 6 of us and we had no problem with space and bathrooms... The view of the bridge at night is amazing and the the places and views in the surrounding areas were amazing as well.... If i had to go to Oregon again i would stay here no doubt....

Awesome Views - Fantastic Location!
I took my two sisters, my best friend and two nieces for a three day four night 60th birthday celebration. The house was clean, with a lived in look. Everyone decided to shower at the same time the first morning and plenty of hot water! The kitchens were both very nice and well stocked. BUT The best thing about this house is the location. We walked everywhere! The Rouge Brewery is a block away. Great beer and the clam chowder was delicious. South Beach is an easy .5 mile walk and beautiful. The bayfront is .8 mile walk over the bridge, the view from the bridge is awesome! We walked to the aquarium, just a few blocks. Nothing beats just setting on the deck or in the family room watching the wildlife and boats though. We all miss the Happy Clam already. Can't wait to go back.
PS Gary was great to work with. Answered all my questions beforehand. This place is fantastic! Book it now!

Happy as a clam
Overall excellent place to stay. Close to everything in Newport. Very short drive along jetty drive to park and walk over some sand dunes to the ocean. House was big, roomy and had nice views. Only negative was the sleeper sofa was too uncomfortable to sleep on.

We loved staying here!
The location of the Happy Clam is perfect. I enjoyed crabbing from the pier that is right across the street. The Oregon Aquarium is very close and our little gkids really enjoyed that. Sherie and Gary are great to work with, the accommodations were perfect for our family reunion of 12. We loved having access to the apartment downstairs for our teenage boys. Our stay at the Happy Clam made our vacation to the Oregon Coast a memorable one. BTW, I caught four crabs and they were delicious. Crabbing traps and cooking pots are provided with the accommodations. Thank you Sherie and Gary for sharing your beautiful vacation home!

It Just Doesn't Get Any Better Than This!
We have stayed at many vacation rentals on the Oregon Coast. Our stay at The Happy Clam was the best we've ever had. Sherie made it so easy to reserve this property. We also rented the additional downstairs suite so my husband could work while we were there and not be disturbed by the rest of the family in vacation mode.
The house is just below the Newport bridge, gorgeous by day and twinkling with lights at night. There is a popular walking/bike path along the jetty that comes out just across the street from the house. The deck off the 'great room' is a wonderful vantage point for people and boat watching. The house is on the jetty and has ocean views. The sunsets are stunning.
The main living area is on the second floor has a vast expanse of windows on the north and west side. The kitchen is large, with a full sized refrigerator/freezer and another full sized upright freezer adjacent. There is plenty of storage room for non-perishables. You have a view of the jetty and the ocean from the kitchen sink. There is a breakfast bar as well as a dining table that seats six. No matter where you are in the main living area you have views. Plenty of dishes, glasses, cups, and silverware are provided. The dishwasher works great. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms on this main floor.
The third floor has a wall of bookcases filled with books and games, another table with chairs, and a hide-a-bed couch in the open sitting area that looks down on the great room. There is a very small room with a bunk bed off the sitting area, and a HUGE master bedroom with stupendous views from a wall of windows on the west side. A table in the bedroom has a coffee maker so you can have your first cup without rousing anyone else. The master suite has it's own bathroom with a double sink, a large jetted tub and a separate shower. There are actually 2 walk-in closets across from the bathroom. One of them has a twin mattress in it for extra accommodations.
The kids' favorite place turned out to be the garage, because of the pool and ping-pong tables down there. There is a laundry sink, and a washer and dryer in the garage, as well as an electric barbeque and a propane crab pot. Cooking with the barbeque or crab pot has to be done outdoors, but was quite convenient to open the garage doors and move them outside. There are crab nets for your use and the crabbing at the docks a short walk away is good.
If you're into clamming or just watching other people clamming, this is the place for you! At low tide, the beach just across the road is a very popular spot.
The Newport Aquarium is an easy walk or a 2 minute drive from the house. Another must-see is Aquarium Village, also an easy walk or 2 minute drive. Be sure to take your camera, because this place is all about wacky photo-ops with a nautical theme. Great fish and chips for lunch at Fishtails Cafe there. We also highly recommend the Discovery Tours boat that can be found on the bay side at Old Town.
The Happy Clam was worth every penny, and I am so glad we stayed there. The kids still talk about it as "our best vacation EVER".

About the neighbourhood
We are on the south side of the Yaquina Bay Bridge where the bay waters transition to the ocean -- called the jetty. Our windows look out onto the water and we love watching the fishing boats, the seals splashing, lots of birds and other sea life....occasionally there are orcas as well.
