Stable Cottage is a cosy and comfortable detached thatched cottage, alongside a small brook and overlooking gardens and fields (often with sheep in them!). The village itself has a pub and local shop/post office within walking distance. The cottage is furnished and equipped to high standard with good quality fixtures and fittings. We are near the small market town of Devizes which has been described as a 'mini Bath' with its regular weekly market and good selection of independent shops and places to eat. You can visit the Kennet and Avon Canal and the museum, Wadworth's brewery and visitor centre, Devizes museum or drive to both Avebury stone circle and Stonehenge (both around a 20 minute drive away). There is an abundance of public footpaths for walking and lots of good local pubs. Nice little cottage with a small murmuring mill-river at its side. Very quiet, situated in a little village overlooking the fields with cows or sheep. All the Wiltshire-attractions in short distance: the white horses, the crop-circles, Savernake Forest, Stonehenge, Avebury, Salisbury, the Kennet-and-Avon-Canal, the Iron-age...More
