Cottage
The Nest at Winnall is a luxury self-catering holiday cottage dating from the early 19th Century, situated near Lincomb which is close to the beautiful Wyre Forest in the heart of rural Worcestershire, England. The cottage sits adjacent to Winnall House, an imposing Grade II listed Georgian manor farmhouse, and is nestled in a small valley of unspoilt countryside which slopes down to the River Severn. The Nest at Winnall has been lovingly restored by its family owners, retaining many period cottage features but with all the modern luxuries you would expect. The interior has a chic retro design feel, with many vintage details, so you can truly 'step back in time' and forget all the stresses of daily life during your stay here. On your arrival, a walled gateway will take you through...The Nest at Winnall is a luxury self-catering holiday cottage dating from the early 19th Century, situated near Lincomb which is close to the beautiful Wyre Forest in the heart of rural Worcestershire, England. The Nest at Winnall has been lovingly restored by its family owners, retaining many period cottage features but with all the modern luxuries you would expect. The interior has a chic retro design feel, with many vintage details, so you can truly 'step back in time' and forget all the stresses of daily life during your stay here. On your arrival, a walled gateway will take you through to your own private, enclosed courtyard garden. The patio area has been made from original quarry tiles reclaimed from the old cottage floor, and with its atmospheric lighting it is just perfect for secluded evening barbeques. Sleeping up to four people (+ cot), The Nest at Winnall has two bedrooms - one with a king size bed, the other with twin beds. Both have 1000 pocket sprung mattresses as well as soft cotton goosefeather duvets and pillows. One room has views over the private courtyard and the other looks out over the lawns of the main house. There are two bathrooms - a spacious and modern ensuite for the king room and a large family bathroom which also serves as an ensuite for the twin room. This has a roll-top bath and original Victorian washstand. Both bathrooms have fully enclosed showers with vintage-style fittings, heated towel rails and of course... thick, white, fluffy Egyptian cotton towels. In the large and open plan kitchen diner 1950's fabulousness can be found in the retro-styled appliances and vintage artefacts. Complementing those is a clean and fresh modern fitted kitchen, which contains everything you will need during your stay (electric oven/hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, washing machine/tumble dryer, kettle, toaster and also a DAB radio with Bluetooth connection). The midcentury feel has been brought through to the dining area, which has room to seat four people very comfortably. The cosy double-aspect lounge has a real wood burner fireplace and sumptuous, warm decor. It has a 32" widescreen TV, Firestick for streaming TV content, Freeview and BluRay DVD player and also free Superfast Wi-Fi available. On warm summer days the French windows can be opened out onto a pretty patio which overlooks the lawns of the main house. The retro look is carried through to this room with period-style furniture and original midcentury wall lights. We love families! We can provide everything you need, including a travel cot/crib, highchair, baby monitor, steriliser, change mat, potty, toilet seat, step stool, bathmat and bed guards. There's a full range of plastic plates, bowls, cups and cutlery, as well as a training cup and bib for the little ones. Of course we also have a collection of childrens books, games, toys and DVDs. Included in your stay is a really *welcome* Welcome Pack - including milk, butter, home-baked bread, home-made jam/chutney, seasonal fruit from the garden (when available), home-baked cake and local produce. The Nest at Winnall is the the perfect tranquil oasis from which to explore the beautiful surroundings of Worcestershire, Shropshire and the Cotswolds with ease. The Very Important Small Print: The Nest at Winnall is a completely non-smoking/non-vaping environment (including the outdoor areas). Unfortunately we can't allow pets at The Nest. We are very flexible with changeover days. We ask that guests arrive after 4pm and depart by 10am.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Home from home 🏠
We were welcomed to ‘The Nest’ with homemade jam, fresh bread & a delicious lemon cake all made by the host. Our own private courtyard lead to our front door where we were greeted to a spacious retro kitchen fitted out with everything you could possibly need & more. A cosy sitting room with its own wood burner. Main bedroom had a king size bed with the most luxurious bedding & a beautiful fitted ensuite. Second bedroom had two single beds with the same bedding along with breathtaking views in the morning. The family bathroom was very well fitted with a roll top bath & a large walk in shower. Truly a home from home would recommend this host time & time again.

Perfect place to relax. Karen is the most thoughtful host, nothing is too much trouble. The welcome hamper on arrival was lovely & the cottage is immaculate. Can't wait to go again.

Perfect weekend away
We had a really lovely time in this beautiful cottage - it was everything we needed. The kitchen was really well equipped, the showers were great, the log burner meant we were cosy in the evening. The beds were incredibly comfortable and everywhere was immaculate. The cottage had gorgeous views and quirky decor - like the meat hooks in the kitchen. We had a nice walk round Bewdley, there was an interesting museum & gallery in Worcester & Hanbury wall was well worth a visit. Karen was very helpful and the welcome hamper was excellent. We hope to return.

A Tranquil House in the Countryside
Well where to start about this excellent vacation holiday home away from home. Right from first booking until we left the owner, Karen, does everything right. Good comms and suggest you download the app as gives you loads of detail. The pictures do not do the house justice and the specification of everything is top class. You will want for nothing and this starts with the welcome pack of home made bread, jam, cake and milk - not forgetting the fudge and wine. Now the house is down a couple of narrow lanes but just take your time and will get there. Locals are very accomodating if you do happen to see one on the lanes. Park up and open the gate to your own wee secluded garden with seating area. Get your key and in you go. Big open kitchen with all that you need from washing macine to dishwasher. An information pack that tells you everything you need to know. A lovely sitting room with real wood fire if you want to try it. Upstairs to two bedrooms one double and a twin both with thier own bathrooms. One bathroom has a nice big bath and separate shower. The bath is great if you have had a long drive to get there. Now the silence at night is a god send if used to city living. So close the curtains and there is literally no noise until you hear the birds in the morning. Been in a few vacation lets and can honestly say this is in my top three if not the top. We will definitely be back for another stay.

Best place we have EVER stayed!
By far the best place we have ever stayed! The Nest is exceptionally clean, it is very modern, it has extremely comfortable beds, and has everything you could need. We were greeted with home made bread, home made lemon drizzle cake (the best we've ever tasted), butter, eggs and milk......not to mention the home made jam and tasty fudge. Our host Karen has literally thought of everything. We can not recommend this place enough, absolutely beautiful. Thank you!

A true gem
We enjoyed an extremely relaxing break at the Nest. Inside and out it stands out as one of the most comfortable, attractive and thoughtfully equipped cottages we've stayed in. The location is tranquil, with plenty of local paths to explore, but equally there are lots of good options for days out in the area. When the weather wasn't so kind we happily made ourselves comfortable with books and games - fast wifi was also appreciated! From the generous welcome hamper and well stocked coffee selection, to having things like picnic plates and a cool bag to borrow, every effort has been made for a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Highly recommended!

Our 2nd stay - just as luxurious and idyllic
Stayed here for the first time in 2018 so when i saw a late cancellation for this Easter weekend i jumped at the chance. everything is pure luxury - and it is all the little things that adds to it for me...fresh homemade brad and jam, snack pack for the little one, coffee machine with lots of choices of coffees and also range of teas, then all the bits and bibs you don't have to worry about taking.... just pack some clothes, order a supermarket delivery and that's all you need to worry about. the rest is taken care of. We also can't tell how it has aged ion anyway in the last 4 years since we stayed. it looks as immaculate as before! Very very clean, tidy and homely.

Another fabulous stay
We returned to The Nest after 3 years and once again has the most wonderful stay. Karen is very welcoming and again everything is spotlessly clean and well thought out. The welcome basket is still there and is such a treat.. The booking process and communication with Karen is speedy and efficient and you know that you will get a response quickly if you were to have a query. Before we left we thanked Karen for the stay at The Nest and we wanted to tell her that we have travelled far and wide and have never stayed in accommodation so clean and well thought out as The Nest and we would highly recommend a stay here… you would not be disappointed 😊😊

Thank you both for a fabulous review. It's always such a pleasure to welcome back returning guests, and it pleases me no end that your stay was just as wonderful as last time. I'm particularly bowled over by your last comment - it means the world to me that The Nest is right 'up there' for you. We always strive for excellence and it's fantastic that this is what you've experienced with us. Really hope to see you both soon when you visit this part of the world again.
