Cross Roads Cottage is a quaint cottage situated in the village of Gilwern where The Monmouth and Brecon canal passes through the village with the pretty canal boats. It's a great place to explore the Welsh culture with The World Heritage Site at Blaenavon, The Big Pit, Blorenge Mountain and The Black Mountains and of course the Brecon Beacons National Park. The cottage has many charming features which add character to the property, it has a full fitted kitchen, separate dining room & lounge with a narrow staircase leading to the two double bedrooms.

We chose the cottage because of the location as we had to visit a friend in Newport. However we are very pleased with the cottage as it provides all the essentials, just like what one would expect at home. It's not very big but cosy enough. We'll visit again.

Firstly we picked this location because it had parking with the cottage for our car. The property was easy to find, although on the main road it is quiet and you can not hear any traffic that does pass, not really busy at all. Nice little place for my wife and I, with quality bedding. Lots of cute feminine touches around the house, good value for the money. The Brecon Beacons are within easy reach of most parts of the United Kingdom both by car and rail. We are 35 minutes from the M4 motorway linking with London, South Wales and Southern England; 15 minutes from a dual-carriageway connecting with the Midlands and North of England via the M5/M50. Abergavenny railway station is well served by fast and frequent trains between Cardiff, Newport and Shrewsbury, Manchester and North Wales. Good connections can be made at Newport to London Paddington, the Midlands, Bristol and the South of England.
