About the neighbourhood
The Stable is ideal for touring both the north and south coast of Devon and Cornwall. Dartmoor, Bodmin Moor and a variety of National Trust properties are all close by including Cotehele House, Lanhydrock, Launceston Castle and Tintagel Castle. Looe beach and fishing harbour is thirty minutes away. The Eden Project at St Austell is only fifty minutes away. The surrounding Tamar Valley is rich in the heritage of tin, copper and arsenic mining, with many interesting walks available through these scenic areas. Close by is the city of Plymouth which is famous for the historic Barbican and Mayflower steps, Plymouth Aquarium, Plymouth Hoe Smeaton's Tower (lighthouse) and Plymouth's outdoor swimming pool with fantastic views of Plymouth Sound.
Getting around
A car is necessary as The Stable is not on a bus route. There is a train station at Gunnislake, the train goes to Plymouth.
