The Stable is the perfect place for a quiet, relaxing holiday in the beautiful Cornish countryside close to Callington. The Stable's central location makes it the ideal base for exploring the beaches and moors of both Cornwall and Devon. The parking area for The Stable is to the left of the cottage. A gate at the back of the parking area leads to an enclosed patio with patio furniture and barbecue. The Stable door opens from the small country lane into a small separate cloakroom. A second door opens from the cloakroom into the open plan living area. There is a lounge and dining area and a kitchenette. The lounge area has two settees, a coffee table and an electric wood burner fire and a radiator. There is a television with Free-view, a DVD player and a CD/cassette/radio. The dining area caters for four. There is a well-equipped kitchenette with an oven/grill and separate hob, a microwave, a combined washer/dryer and a small combined fridge/freezer (3 star). The first floor has two bedrooms and a separate shower room with toilet and basin. The main bedroom has a king-sized bed with room for a travel cot. A cot is not provided.There is a double wardrobe and a chest of drawers. The single bedroom has a three-foot bed and a wardrobe. A baby gate is provided. The barn has beams and laminate flooring. A warm welcome awaits you at Pitt Barn Cottages which are set apart from the Owner’s home at Pitt Barn in a cul-de-sac on the edge of the peaceful village of Bray Shop and located just off the B3257. The owners welcome you to stroll around their garden and lake.

We have stayed here a number of times. As always the cottage was clean warm and comfortable. Very quiet in the evenings and close to lots of National Trusts and English Heritage. On return home we have booked another week for next year.

About the neighbourhood
The Stable is ideal for touring both the north and south coast of Devon and Cornwall. Dartmoor, Bodmin Moor and a variety of National Trust properties are all close by including Cotehele House, Lanhydrock, Launceston Castle and Tintagel Castle. Looe beach and fishing harbour is thirty minutes away. The Eden Project at St Austell is only fifty minutes away. The surrounding Tamar Valley is rich in the heritage of tin, copper and arsenic mining, with many interesting walks available through these scenic areas. Close by is the city of Plymouth which is famous for the historic Barbican and Mayflower steps, Plymouth Aquarium, Plymouth Hoe Smeaton's Tower (lighthouse) and Plymouth's outdoor swimming pool with fantastic views of Plymouth Sound.
Getting around
A car is necessary as The Stable is not on a bus route. There is a train station at Gunnislake, the train goes to Plymouth.
