You will discover the quirky features of this cob and stone, listed building - it was built in 1714. Don't expect perfection - do expect authentic romanticism. You'll feel just like you are in a scene out of Poldark!! We have some wonderful sunsets, lots of peace and quiet and you might just want to curl up in front of the log burner with a good book, for the week. The original part of the cottage is small and dainty and is now the sitting room - it's cosy and comfortable with a small TV and the Log Burner and the master bedroom. Nothing is king-sized here. In the newer part of the cottage, we've added a garden/dining room which looks out toward the engine house. It attracts the sun and is a lovely space to sit and read or just to 'be'. Upstairs we have an ensuite with a gorgeous shower and bath. Downstairs there is another combined shower and utility room with that all important beer fridge. We always leave you a small supply of washing powder and fabric conditioner as well as basic kitchen condiments. This season we've added a Breakfast Bench in the front garden to catch the early sun and access to the picnic and playing field for garden games and fun. Enjoy a real taste of Cornwall - the ambiance and the outdoor spaces are just fabulous and the surrounds are perfect for a run around or to a sit a while there with a coffee or a cheeky glass of wine. Remember - the lane to the cottage is darned narrow! The benefit of this is there is no passing traffic - just a couple of passing horses and walkers.

Even better the 2nd time
After booking in 2019 and having a great time we decided to come again for new year. I really didn't think this place could get much better but with the latest addition of the gardens and play areas for the children it really now is 6 stars. Peter & Ruth have thought of everything and wrens nook will definitely be our go to choice when visiting Cornwall. Once again thank you both & Dante.

Relaxing Weekend Break
My partner and I had the pleasure of staying at Wrens Nook for a long weekend. The cottage is absolutely beautiful. The kitchen whilst modern is in keeping with a cottage look and is wonderfully equipped with everything we needed. The sun room offered a great place to relax with a lovely view of one of the old mines and the en suite bathroom was amazingly luxurious. Our evenings were spent in the cozy living room enjoying the log burner. The area itself is picturesque with some lovely shops and restaurants and a short walk to the beach. All in all a totally relaxing stay in a beautiful location. Thoroughly recommended

We spent two weeks in Wrens Nook Cottage. It is a lovely little cottage that has been well renovated and restored. There is a great new bathroom, nice bedrooms and a new kitchen. We also like the winter garden very much, with a nice sofa to sit and read. You can also sit outside and enjoy the nice small garden and adjacent fields. We enjoyed the peace and quiet the most. It is really a lovely place to stay. If you do not want to do anything then you can just stay in and relax. Unfortunately you cannot reach the cottage with your car as the lane is not very wide, but you can park at the end of the lane and walk to the cottage. St Agnes is also a really nice little village with some nice small shops and beach all in walking distance. Our children did a week’s surfing course in Trevaunance Cove and really enjoyed themselves. Cornwall has so many nice places to visit. The lost gardens of Heligan and Port Isaac were our favorites, but there are lots more. We had a really great holiday. The owner Pete is very friendly, helpful and hospitable as is Rachel the housekeeper. We can fully recommend Wren’s Nook.

Perfect holiday for all the family
We have visited Cornwall a number of times and we can honestly say staying at Wrens Nook was our best experience yet. The cottage has been beautifully restored and still maintains the character of a Tin Miners Cottage. What we loved best was the location, it was so peaceful and relaxing. Every day my children couldn't wait to put their wetsuits on, and we walked down to the beach so they could spend the day surfing. I was able to relax and read and enjoy just watching them having so much fun. St Agnes has a wide range of shops and places to eat so we were able to get everything we wanted without having to drive anywhere - complete bliss for me! I would highly recommend Wrens Nook to anyone that wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and relax with your family. We will be booking on again as soon as we can.

Great way to relax
My wife and I came to Wren's Nook after a recommendation from a friend and we loved it. First drive up the narrow approach lane was a challenge in a Volvo estate (best done in daylight) but we easily got used to it. The cottage itself is a delight; olde worlde yet immaculate and with sufficient to cater for modern living. If fact just the spot to drift away from the urban rat race, read a book or gaze at the sun setting behind the old tin mine. If you are on foot (and we parked the car close by and rarely found the need to use it) it's a short walk down a blackberry lined country lane to reach st Agnes itself and the sea, or to start longer walks over the wonderful North Cornwall heritage coast, Alternatively, you can go on up the lane to catch a bus inland to Truro and other locations. So while Wren's Nook feels 'away from it all' in fact the rest of Cornwall is within easy reach. A true relax and unwind location. Thoroughly recommended.

Great cottage
Spent a week at Wrens Nook and had a great time there. Walking in the area, visiting the local sights and the great beach The cottage had everything you could want and really enjoyed it Only downside was the difficulties with getting our large car to the cottage, we parked down the lane and it was a few minutes walk but no bother Would always recommend the cottage for use as it was a great location, great cottage and great time

About the neighbourhood
The area is rural/coastal Cornwall with quiet lanes leading down to Trevaunance Cove. You can join the coastal path here for a brisk walk toward Perranporth to the other way toward Chapel Porth. Another wonderful walk is from the cottage up to the Beaacon and then down toward Trevaunance Cove stopping at the Driftwood for a pint of their home brew. National Trust Houses abound. Our favourite is Trerice. St Agnes has plenty of village shops and Truro is a wonderful City for shopping - and visit the cathedral as it is stunning.
Getting around
Lots of guests leave their car and walk everywhere - but is up to you. The village, pubs, restaurants and the beach are all walkable - so you can get the fit bit going. Buses go from the village into Newquay and Truro. If you go to Truro - stop by Charlottes Tea Room.

How to get there
We'll send you directions nearer the time. You can park on our driveway which you must approach from Water Lane - not Goonown. Our lane is the only byway off Water Lane. It's darned narrow - check you feel comfortable with it before you drive up. You can always park on Water Lane if you don't fancy it - but we drive up in our Lexus. Whatever you do don't follow sat nav - it doesn't recognise just how narrow these lanes are hear in Cornwall. We're approximately 7 miles from Truro Train Station where there are direct trains from Birmingham and Paddington. Newquay Airport is about 10 miles away with flights from Heathrow and Manchester. It's an easy cab ride to the cottage and you really don't need a car once you are here because everything is walkable. Bus services run from St Agnes and Peterville.
