We operate a three night minimum stay, excluding summer school holidays when we only offer Saturday to Saturday stays. Our location is remote enough to be peaceful, but close enough to Cornwall's larger attractions to be a great base for trips out. Largely unspoilt, people come to the Lizard to see its dramatic scenery, sandy beaches and rugged natural landscapes. The Guardian recently described it as 'almost impossibly pretty'. To the east of our site is a small stream and path that leads down to the beach at Kennack Sands which is divided into two beaches by Carn Kennack (a small hill). There are two cafe's next to the beach and you can also learn to surf at Kennack Sands Surf School. The east beach is dog friendly all year round. The area surrounding Little Gwendreath is a national nature reserve, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, complete with rare wildlife species and spectacular scenery. On clear nights the Milky Way can be seen. There are many rewarding walks near us, not least the South West Coast Path which passes by Kennack Sands. Our cottages are quiet, cosy and offer authentic Cornish holidays with nature at the heart. We are very conscious that everything we do has an impact and we want to tread as lightly as we can. We are passionate about reducing our footprint and inspiring our guests to minimise the impact of their stay. We try to show that 'going green' does not mean compromise and guests can rest assured that just by staying at Little Gwendreath, they are helping to protect the environment they are here to enjoy.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.

A lovely chilled holiday in a warm, comfortable cottage!
A perfectly located cottage, convenient for exploring lots of lovely, interesting places. The hosts always communicated well and were friendly. Although small, everything was well thought out in the cottage and it had everything we needed, as well as being warm and cosy. Our two dogs also had a lovely holiday! Thoroughly recommended!

Traumhafte Lage!
Gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in Helston. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Gorgeous little cottage in an idyllic peaceful setting
Lovely little cottage in a very peaceful tucked away location on the Lizard peninsula yet only a 10 minute woodland walk from the beach at Kennack Sands. Ideally situated to explore southern Cornwall and the quaint little villages around the Helford river. Cottage was lovely and clean and had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Stephen and Sarah were great hosts very friendly and information of the local area. Fully recommend for a quiet restful getaway. Would definitely visit again!

Mooie cottage op loopafstand van het strand
Kleine huisje maar heel netjes schoon en verzorgd. Al het nodige is aanwezig. Mooie inloopdouche.

Ansonsten alles super!

Clean, tidy, peaceful little cottage
In a quiet corner of the Lizard peninsular, a little off the main tourist routes. The 10min walk from the cottage down to Kennack beach, through the beautiful woodland of the nature reserve, is wonderful; especially early in the morning and at sundown. The main beach by the cafe can be busy, but the northern beach is very quiet and allows dogs. The main beach has lifeguards on duty. The cottage is lovely with its own secluded garden. Although small it has all the facilities required and an escellent shower. For Eco lovers, the hot water is powered by the rooftop solar panels. A great centre for a holiday in easy reach of all the Lizard peninsular has to offer. The owners, Stephen and Sarah, could not be more friendly and helpful.

We should have booked for longer!
If you have been searching for a wonderful base from which to explore the treasures of Cornwall, then Little Gwendreath is for you. Sarah and Steve have created four secluded cottages which provide everything necessary for a memorable visit. We stayed in Cottage 2 and found it to be a cosy and comfortable retreat with two double bedrooms, a kitchen/diner/lounge, utility room and shower room. The kitchen had all we needed with a fridge (with a freezer compartment), a microwave, full oven and hob, toaster and kettle and all the necessary utensils and crockery. The bed was extremely comfortable and there was storage and hanging space. Although the weather was cold, the electric heaters did a terrific job of warming up the cottage. Each cottage has its own private garden There were separate laundry facilities and a store of games, books and beach equipment. The easy walk to Kennack Sands (two beaches) took about ten minutes and the footpath was right by the entrance. We also explored Porthleven, Coverack, St. Keverne, Helford, Daphne du Maurier's Frenchman's Creek and The Lizard (parking on the green is free). The nearest supermarket is Sainsbury's in Helston (about twenty minutes away, with a petrol station, easily signposted and next to Flambard's Theme Park). There is also a Tesco close by. Don't miss Ann's Pasties, Roskilly's ice cream and RNAS Culdrose viewing area. Sarah and Steve were great hosts and responded extremely quickly to emails. We had a great stay, wished we could have stayed longer and will be back. Thank you for making us so welcome.

About the neighbourhood
The area surrounding Little Gwendreath is a national nature reserve and a site of special scientific interest within Cornwall’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The rare geology of the area creates a haven for exceptional plants and flowers. Around the coastline you’ll find little fishing ports with huge granite sea walls to protect from the Atlantic gales, restaurants specialising in freshly caught seafood, and gorgeous sandy bays with jagged black rocks jutting out in to the sea (Kennack Sands, Kynance Cove and Coverack beach and more). Stand right on the tip of the Lizard and look out to sea. At 49°57' N, the most southerly point on the UK’s mainland, watch the waves as they hurtle to the shore and try to catch a glimpse of a seal.
