We operate a three night minimum stay, excluding summer school holidays when we only offer Saturday to Saturday stays. Our location is remote enough to be peaceful, but close enough to Cornwall's larger attractions to be a great base for trips out. Largely unspoilt, people come to the Lizard to see its dramatic scenery, sandy beaches and rugged natural landscapes. The Guardian recently described it as 'almost impossibly pretty'. To the east of our site is a small stream and path that leads down to the beach at Kennack Sands which is divided into two beaches by Carn Kennack (a small hill). There are two cafe's next to the beach and you can also learn to surf at Kennack Sands Surf School. The east beach is dog friendly all year round. The area surrounding Little Gwendreath is a national nature reserve, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, complete with rare wildlife species and spectacular scenery. On clear nights the Milky Way can be seen. There are many rewarding walks near us, not least the South West Coast Path which passes by Kennack Sands. Our cottages are quiet, cosy and offer authentic Cornish holidays with nature at the heart. We are very conscious that everything we do has an impact and we want to tread as lightly as we can. We are passionate about reducing our footprint and inspiring our guests to minimise the impact of their stay. We try to show that 'going green' does not mean compromise and guests can rest assured that just by staying at Little Gwendreath, they are helping to protect the environment they are here to enjoy.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Perfect peaceful location.
Cottage 2 at Little Gwendreath. Just what we were looking for. It has a small enclosed garden which was ideal as we had our two dogs staying with us. The cottage has everything we needed. Steve and Sarah live close by and were on hand if we needed anything. (But we didn't need to bother them) everything was fine. You pass Goonhilly Downs on the way to the cottage which is a sight to be seen. The Lizard is spectacular. Recommended.

A little gem in Cornwall!
We stayed at Cottage 2 from 23 to 28 Dec 2020 with our two little dogs. The cottage is amazing, very clean, just the perfect size with a lovely secluded front and back garden too. Sufficient parking at the front of the cottages, and the owners were really nice, friendly and very helpful with providing us with extra information when we requested this about local pubs to have meals. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cottage despite the weather, and hope to return again in the near future. Thank You Stephen & Sarah. And Happy New Year. Hannah & Gerry/Hampshire.

Lovely cottage
We spent 5 days here. The location is superb. 15 minutes walk through beautiful woodland to the glorious and peaceful Kennack Sands. Sarah and Steve are great hosts, and the cottage was perfect for our needs. I forgot to thank them for the amazing ginger Cornish fairing biscuits they left for us. I'd love the recipe! We'll definitely be back.

Just gorgeous!
Gorgeous cottage - we stayed in no2. Absolutely perfect for our first post lockdown venture out of our home town. Sarah and Steve are such warm and friendly hosts with exactly the right balance of guest interaction without being intrusive and all of their suggestions for walks and restaurants were spot on. Looking forward to a return visit with friends as soon as we are able. Highly recommended!

Family holiday
Booked for a well deserved family holiday. Cottage was a lovely, clean, homely cottage that is set in a beautiful part of Cornwall. The little nature walk down to kennock sands beach was a lovely peaceful walk which we took a few times during our week. We spent most of our week on beaches in Cornwall. There was plenty to do in and round Cornwall. Would recommend to anyone.

Lovely Cottage
Most welcoming owners and cottage off the beaten track. Nice and quiet, with a wooded 10 to 15 minute walk to the beach. Ideal base for a walking holiday, with plenty of public footpaths. Perfect for those days out in Cornwall, from here it is a short distance to places such as Lizard Point, The chocolate factory in Mullion and even the supermarkets in Helston. The gardens at Trebah are quite beautiful and further afield are places such as Tintagel Castle, Newquay and Padstow. A Great Place for a holiday in Cornwall.

nice for a break
we arrived at beautiful cottage 2. with a welcome pack and a nice welcoming from the owners by text. they had the most amazing tasting scones available. ( I like raisins in mine though. haha🤣) loads of board games available. and little sachets of coffee, tea and sugar . they do provide towels. but I'd recommend bringing one your self as they don't change and only one each. it's warm cosy. close to the beach good exercise. little shop and a bar on site. as we are under 30 with no kids, we did find it a little boring. so went home early but I'd still recommend it's lovely here. thank Steve and Sarah

Lovely Easter Break
The accommodation was clean, bright and well looked after. The owners are lovely. welcomed us when we arrived and showed us where everything was. They even organised an Easter egg hunt which my children loved. The property is in a quiet location but really convenient for visiting the local area especially Helston, Penzance, and the local beaches. We love the area and stay at least once a year so if this accommodation is available next time we are looking to stay we will definitely rebook.

Comfy Cottage
We booked this cottage in January after deciding to take a short break to the Lizard Peninsular. The booking was easy and correspondence from the owner was excellent. On arrival at the cottage we received tea and coffee as well as scones and cream. The location was perfect for exploring the area either walking or by car. As we had 2 dogs with us it was ideal as there was a short walk down to Kennack Sands beach. We will definitely be visiting again; hopefully for a short summer break. Thank you.😊

About the neighbourhood
The area surrounding Little Gwendreath is a national nature reserve and a site of special scientific interest within Cornwall’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The rare geology of the area creates a haven for exceptional plants and flowers. Around the coastline you’ll find little fishing ports with huge granite sea walls to protect from the Atlantic gales, restaurants specialising in freshly caught seafood, and gorgeous sandy bays with jagged black rocks jutting out in to the sea (Kennack Sands, Kynance Cove and Coverack beach and more). Stand right on the tip of the Lizard and look out to sea. At 49°57' N, the most southerly point on the UK’s mainland, watch the waves as they hurtle to the shore and try to catch a glimpse of a seal.
