It's always buzzing in Byron Bay. I love the place, like everyone else (did you know Byron is the third most visited tourist destination in Oz after Sydney and Melbourne?).
But sometimes it can get hectic, especially during festival season, schoolies, spring, summer and every other month of the year.
When you don't want to be in the thick of it, Lennox Head is a more laid-back alternative, 20.3 kilometres down the road.
For this year's Bluesfest in March/April my friends Tezza and Sparky, and my beautiful eldest daughter, opted to stay at LakeSong at Lennox Head, instead of dealing with the constant traffic jam that Byron becomes during this annual event.
LakeSong is an easy-on-the-eye apartment in a complex of four - obviously architect-designed with beachy coastal finishes. Maybe 10/12 years old? It's not a big place but it is well designed, with two bedrooms upstairs and a void area/rumpus at the top of the stairs with a sofa bed - this is where beautiful daughter...
