Not just any home, a dugout. Half above ground and half below. The dugout was an old mine in the 1800’s and was converted to a dugout in the mid 1900’s. Constant temperature ranges from 18 degree in winter through to 24 degrees in summer, which makes it ideal for living during the extreme heats. A unique experience in a quiet location. Secure yard for your pets, and a quick walk up the stairs to enjoy one of White Cliffs infamous sun sets.

Absolutely fantastic. Unqiue Experience. Very homely.
Hayley was a great host. This is a unique experience to stay in such a beautiful dugout. It had all the comforts of home. 2 bedrooms, with enough beds for a large family. Hayley had lots of info about what to see and do while in town. We were very impressed!

Not to be missed experience
Fossickers Den Dugout is located close to the Red Earth Opal and White House tours. The outside structure houses the kitchen, dining area, bathroom and laundry. Then you step through the doorway and you enter an old mine that has been converted to a home. You immediately notice the drop in temperature, nice and cool. Plenty of room for a large family with two lounge areas to spread out in. One with a large TV. Hard to get to sleep straightaway was soooo quite. We awoke at 7:30am and went outside to view the sunrise. The owner even provided milk, bread, eggs and bacon in the refrigerator. Along with two small bottles of wine, lollies and chocolates. If you want an underground accommodation experience then you need to book with Fossickers Den Dugout.

best accomodation in white cliffs
We cant speak highly enough of this dug out and Hayley the owner is a really warm friendly helpfull lady we really enjoyed our 3 night stay and we were very sorry to be leaving highly recommend this place when you visit white cliffs and being in a converted old mine at night it is so quiet and very very dark makes for a wonderfull nights sleep the dug out has a cosy feel to it Hayley left bread bacon milk and eggs for our breakfast very unexpected also 2 small bottles of wine lollies chocolates and biscuits we can not recommend this dug out highly enough thank you Hayley for making us so welcome this is the only place we will stay when in white cliffs next
