Our Getaway is part of Jim Thorpe's history - housed in a Vintage Mercantile building that served ice cream soda's circa 1874, you will experience the old world architecture that continues to define the town. The building renovations have retained design details and gives guests an opportunity to admire architectural history, inside and out, with the original storefront and display windows still intact. The building also houses 600 sq. ft. of cafe space currently open only for private events. The Glen Onoko Getaway is named for the famous Glen Onoko Falls, which is known for the amazing hiking activities, multiple waterfalls, and scenic views at the Lehigh Gorge State Park. Modern design includes a fully equipped kitchen with stainless appliances, electric hot water pot, electric skillet, open concept shelving, and new charcoal gray ceramic floor tiles. Lighting is essential, so why not make it amazing? It's the first thing you see when you walk into the bedroom. Crystal chandeliers give visual balance to the bedroom's tall ceiling. The reflection bounces light off the lacquered ceiling and on the beautiful warm white walls. Brand new oak hardwood flooring adds a wonderful warmth to the private oasis. We supply all bed linens and bath towels ( located in the built in cabinet). You will find a full bath with walk in shower with natural stone subway tiles along with a half bath ( with hand rails). There is no bathtub. Other things to note Once reaching the Getaway, please go to the back of the building to park and unload in our private parking lot.
