Cottage
Note: (We do not take children under 12 and we don't take Pets. Please don't ask about pets or one night stays) Situated on one of Bucks County's most fabled properties in the historic hamlet of Philips Mill, Pa. and just 1.5 miles from downtown New Hope, Pa. sits our private little English village 'The Gothic English Village'. Renowned Architect, Painter, Iron worker, and Wood worker, Morgan Colt built this extraordinary village at the turn of the century to be his residence. There are many great restaurants, art galleries, antiques stores and live music. Being that we are located on the canal, you can walk or ride your bikes on the towpath one mile into downtown New Hope, PA or Stockton, NJ. In Stockton there is an 'indoor' great farmers market which is open on weekends all year. New Hop...

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Herringbone Cottage.
What a lovely getaway. This property is in a magical setting (think Hobbit). The cottage is clearly lovingly cared for and guest comfort is top of mind. The cottage was comfy, pretty and air conditioned well. The kitchen was well stocked with a nice range of basics like coffee pods, creamers, oils and spices. Everything was of very nice quality and carefully done.
Kurt was generous with his introduction to the history of the property and to the legends and lore of the ownership in times gone by. He was also very kind and hand delivered lost items.
The cottage is quite centrally located with most that we wanted to do a hop, skip and jump away.
A very nice way to experience this incredibly lovely and historic corner of Pennsylvania.

A magical stay in a far away place, which is just what I needed!
Romantic Herringbone Cottage is so wonderful because it is itself is so very charming and inviting. Every amenity made it feel like my very own country house. I chose this place as I needed tranquility, in which to enjoy my own company. Eleanor Miller and Kurt Miller are very welcoming and kind and hospitable. The room is large and comfortable and everything is perfectly clean. The bed is very comfortable and all the linens are pressed and crisp! As much as I would like this to be my secret, I have to lavish praise here, and it is my pleasure to do so!

Most Romantic Cottage that I've ever been in!
We stayed in Eleanor/Kurt's Romantic Cottage #2. Laura, my fiance and I were pleasantly surprised! Owner Kurt met us as we drove up and gave us a tour and the history of not just the area but where we were staying. We were blown away of the history and of the other cottages that Kurt took us through. My fiance couldn't control her excitement! (Which made me look really good in her eyes..LOL) For the three days that we were there, we had an abundance of things to do, not only in town but in the immediate area. Laura and I were so grateful for Kurt letting us know of the things that we could do! It was the weekend of Laura's birthday and the only thing that she wanted was snow...LOL..and it actually snowed on that Saturday! WOW!! The cottage #2 was awesome and was clean and spotless. Fully stocked with everything that we needed. The bed was amazing and comfortable! Very Happy! We plan on coming back every year and in between! Thank you again Kurt, you are an amazing Host! A very happy and satisfied customer, Michael P. Le Faucheur

Amazing
A compound of English cottages next to an amazing French restaurant in a building built in 1710. The stay was romantic and the price was right. Kurt and Eleanor were gracious and intuitively helpful. We are coming back here and soon.

Wonderful Cottage
Wonderful place to unwind for a few days in a beautiful setting. Eleanor and her son Kurt were gracious hosts giving us a wonderful tour of the property upon arrival. The property is well kept and relaxing. The restaurant adjoined to the property was outstanding and very reasonable. 1 mile up the road is New Hope which is a great town to visit and shop. The Bucks County Playhouse was a great surprise and my wife and I saw a really enjoyable show there--The Buddy Holly Story. I wound highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing, slightly mystical cottage, on a beautiful relaxing property.

unique setting. nice accomodations. great host.
Bucks County is impressive. Much more upscale than I thought. Bucks County Playhouse had a wonderful show. Walking into town about 1.5 miles along the canal kept us from gaining too much weight. Relaxing weekend.
