All rooms are attractively decorated and furnished. This home has lots of room under the house for a shady place to play or cook out. There is a screened in ping pong room! Also, a grill, outside sink, enclosed shower, and a nice grassy back yard. This home boasts a large front covered porch with rockers and a porch swing and on the back of the house a big screen porch with loads of furniture and a hammock, perfect for naps. Maintenance issues
Nice roomy house, but had some issues. No outside outlet to charge golf cart unless we used an extension cord. We ended up using a neighbors outlet.
Dryer takes about 2-3 hours to dry medium load.
Jacuzzi master bathroom was broken, could not use bathtub at all because handles were missing.
Lights were completely burned out under house on one side. Maintenance came to fix electrical problems but did not change out light bulbs.
Bottom shelf in refrigerator was missing...not enough refrigerator space for a house that sleeps this many.
Backyard was not usable because grass had not been mowed.

Please know that Edisto Realty appreciates your business and is certainly sorry to see that you had these issues. We work very hard to make sure all requested repairs can be made in a timely manner. There are times when certain vendors are not available or parts have to be ordered. Yard Maintenance is on a schedule and we would have asked to move the house up if Edisto Realty had know. We all hope that you can plan another Edisto vacation and know that Edisto Realty will be glad to help.

Great Layout, could be much better, needs maintenance
The layout was perfect and the porches were great. Lots of space to move around. We had 8 adults and 5 children and it never seemed too small. Every room has a bathroom except for the SS upstairs and there is also a half bath right near the kitchen/living room. The main TV worked great and they had a cool sound system throughout the house that had an auxiliary cable that you can plug into your phone. Every room had an old-fashioned TV, we didn't test them all. I really enjoyed the porches, there was a porch swing ,a hammock, and rocking chairs. The air conditioning worked great (and it was really hot outside).
The house was close to the beach, only a 2-3 min walk to the beach, 5 min with kids. The main road to walk across was not busy, and seemed safe to cross. There are two outdoor showers at the house, one that is private and has hot water.
There were lots of missing/broken chairs for the dining table. The table is large enough to fit all the adults if there were enough chairs. Two of the broken chairs were in a bedroom closet. Just sitting there, sad and broken. One of the broken chairs was still usable and at the table (the arm would pop off whenever you moved it)
There is NOT a sleeper sofa. I pulled it all apart and discovered that it is just a regular sofa, not a sleeper sofa. We were glad that we brought a blow up mattress just in case.
The fridge still had missing bottoms shelves on the door, and a broken shelf on the door. The fridge took a full day to cool down. In fact, I brought frozen milk and put it in the fridge still frozen. It still took a day to get to the right temp. I'm thinking that the refrigerator probably needs some maintenance, perhaps vacuuming the coils or something.
The dryer still took 2-3 hrs to dry clothes (if at all). We called and they cleaned out the vent. The time improved to 1.5hrs, but I suggest further cleaning. This house is made for a lot of people, and thus a lot of laundry with all the showers after the beach. People stayed up late trying to do their laundry, waiting for the dryer to finish.
The outside lights under the house on one side were still out.
The backyard seemed to be mowed fairly recently.
The reverse osmosis system seems to also need maintenance. The water tastes almost as bad as from the tap. We ended up getting our water from the Marina daily (you can fill up gallon jugs there).
The jet tub in the master bathroom was fixed, no problems there. It worked fine.
While the house was adequately clean, it was definitely not impressive. The floors were dingy and there were lots of dusty areas. The shower curtain in one bathroom had mildew (I didn't see the others). Some of the vents were extremely rusty (upstairs bathroom particularly). There were dead bugs on the floor upon arrival (roach/palmetto bug). Each day brought at least 2 palmetto bugs to kill (one day was 6). I go to the beach every year and rent a house, this was the most bugs I've ever had. I had a hard time sleeping knowing that the next one could pop up any minute.
The desk upstairs had a broken drawer, which was sitting on top of it. The closet upstairs had a door off it's track, just sitting against the wall.
Wi-fi was extremely slow at times, but worked okay at other times.
No one wants to have to call maintenance while they are at the beach. We come for a vacation, to be carefree. We don't want to worry about when someone is coming to fix the dryer, or the lights, or the RO system, etc. Shouldn't the maintenance company have a scheduled inspection with list to keep the house in order? One should only have to call for things that break while you are there, not for a list of things that are broken upon arrival.
Sad, because this house could have been a repeat house with the amazing layout. While I wouldn't completely rule out this house, I would look around first to see if you can find anything better. Hopefully they will fix everything and get everything back in order because it could be a great house.
