Once upon a time the cabin called Barnhouse was a ...BARN...! Rest assured,
the animals are long gone and vacation luxury has come to Nemo, SD. There is a
loft with two single beds, a bedroom (less door) with a queen sized bed, and a
queen sized sofa / sleeper in the main room. There is a complete kitchen with
small gas stove and small refrigerator to go with the bar-b-que on the 10 x 30
deck. All utensils, paper products, and bath / bedding are supplied. Also for your
enjoyment: satellite TV and room A/C. Have lunch outside at the picnic table...!
Roast hotdogs at an evening campfire...! Wander across the pasture and watch
the trout...! Who knows what you'll see flying overhead on that 600' hike to Boxelder
Creek...!

Can’t say enough about this quaint little barn house. Just a great rustic place to unwind. Clean, well stocked with essential items, eclectic decor, great hosts, beautiful location.

Little slice of heaven
It was a magical place. The location, the decor, and the welcome from the lovely hosts, Joan and Brian. Sasha was also very hospitable!

Wonderful cabin with great views and awesome hosts
An absolute gem. Sits in a nice quiet small town with restaurants and a store. Beautiful view wonderful hosts. Cabin was wonderful with everything you would need. 20 minutes from rapid and deadwood great location

Cabin from Heaven
Wonderful cabin, unbelievably beautiful location, fantastic/kind hosts. I cannot recommend it more. Close to everything in town. Yet, seems amazingly remote when sitting on the deck looking at the mountain, trout stream, stars and wildlife

Awesome place to stay...
Really nice place to visit. So quite and serene, if you are looking for place to relax, this is the place. The Host really friendly and understandable. We sure will refers this place to family and friends. Thank you Brian and Joan.

Great place!
As soon as we saw the cabin we were happy. Going inside and seeing the set up and decor we knew we picked the right place. It was very peaceful and relaxing. Just what we needed. We will stay again sometime.

The perfect family getaway
The cabin was perfect! My wife and I love the little details, my kids loved playing in the yard and grabbing the binoculars whenever they saw someone up by the Nemo Flag. The cabin is located in the prefect spot, more more than an hour and a half from even the furthest tourist spots (Devils Tower, Hot Springs, Badlands)… Deadwood, Rapid City, Custer, and Rushmore are all only about 30 min away.
Brian and Joan were the best hosts we could have imagined, wish we stayed longer!

Perfect Cabin, Beautiful Views
Such a beautiful, central location to all the sights western SD has to offer. We loved the views, the wildlife and the fully stocked cabin. The beds were comfy and the towels soft. Our kids had fun feeding apples to and petting Jigs and Joe, the horses. The hosts were very accommodating and easy to work with and talk too. Overall we had a fantastic trip and would happily stay here again.

Awesome little find!!!
The Barnhouse was an awesome little find off the beaten path in Nemo, SD!!! A vintage restored former barn, it was handsomely decorated with vintage finds, some if which are actually for sale!! In addition, the place was outfitted with all of the necessary creature comforts!!! The Barnhouse was painstakingly renovated by owners Joan and Brian, who live on the ranch where this cabin is located! They are super nice and accommodating hosts!!! Nemo is a find. The residents are so nice. The mercantile has whatever you need for your stay and the Brandin Iron is a fantastic local eatery!! Tip-get the lobster Mac n cheese, you'll be glad you did!!! I highly recommend staying at the Barnhouse and I look forward to my next visit!!!

Very Cool!
We had a very nice stay at the cabin. Lots of fun antiques and art pieces inside and out. It was cozy with a great view of the ridge.
