I am admittedly biased. I have visited this property several times, in the 80s when it was run by the coastguard, who gave our party a tour. Some years later during conversion into a leisure property, and other times, in a less formal visit. Just myself and partner are using it. We can each have our own on suite, own...

Management response:

Ok, let's acknowledge that you book the Radio Tower for the experience. You walk into an extension that feels like somebody's shed. Further in you are in the tower itself. The decor is, well, uncompromising, but you can't alter this without changing the nature of the building so OK. Our elderly in-laws assured us they would be fine on the...

As we explain to all guests upon booking, due to the nature of the building the stairs are steep and go up approximately 7 stories from the...

Additional amenities & feature info
Built during the Second World War by German Occupying Forces, the tower has been sympathetically restored in a German modernist Bauhaus style with a concrete staircase winding through the centre of the building over six floors to a wooden spiral staircase which takes you to the top floor. Original features include observation slots on the seaward side and steel doors on the ground floor. From 1976, the Tower was adapted for use by States of Jersey Harbours and Airport Committee who added the panoramic, glass-panelled control room so duty officers could monitor radio communication for vessels using the English Channel.

The second to fourth floors house three identical double bedrooms, each customised within the rounded walls of the tower with fitted wardrobes and their ow... more

About the neighbourhood
Corbière is the extreme south west tip of Jersey with a rugged coastline and dramatic views out to sea and across the sweeping St Ouen's Bay. Jersey is thoroughly British but with a distinct French flavour. Although firecely loyal to the Crown for more than 800 years, the French influence lingers on in local surnames and place and street names. The capital St Helier is packed with continental style bistros, restaurants and pavement cafes.

You do not need a passport to visit the Channel Islands unless you intend taking a day trip to France which is a short hop away by sea or air. You will need proof of identity for flights and sea travel to the Island. As on the UK mainland the currency is sterling but Euros are accepted in many shops and other outlets.
&lt... more

How to get there
Jersey is a compact 9 miles by 5 miles so nowhere is too far away. Radio Tower is only a 15 minute drive from Jersey Airport and a 2O minute drive from the Harbour but should you wish to explore our 45 square miles of lush valleys, well-kept fields and amazing unspoilt coastline it would be advisable to hire a car if you are not bringing your own.
Please be aware that during rare, unfavourable weather conditions combined with the Tower's location and wind direction, bedroom three can experience loud noise interference. There is a double sofa bed situated in the lounge diner on the top floor should this be necessary during your stay.
Radio tower is close to Corbiere Lighthouse and light flashes will occur during the night. During periods of very poor visibility the lig... more
