About the neighbourhood
A short cycle along the coast is Starcross where you can take a ferry to Exmouth to watch the kite surfers at play or carry on up the path that hugs the River Exe towards Powderham Castle and the ancient Roman city of Exeter. Did you know they have re-built Dawlish Warren beach? Sand by the (very large) bucketload once more stretches for miles. Walk along the sea wall to infamous Dawlish - site of the seas mastery over steam train tracks. Feeling fit? Walk on to Teignmouth (home of Muse) for a Victorian promenade and take the tiny ferry to Shaldon a tiny nugget of quintessential quaintness with it's own mini zoo.
Getting around
The train station at Dawlish Warren gives you easy access to the South West be it short jaunt up the line to Exeter or a longer trip down to Cornwall. The local train journeys are some of the most scenic in the country and are very popular with our guests. The area is popular with walkers and cyclists and there is electric bike hire available near by (well Devon does have the odd hill).
