Holiday Rental House
The cottage is converted from an old stone granary and hayloft, providing very spacious accommodation throughout. The master bedroom has separate stair access and en-suite, with the 3 remaining bedrooms sharing a separate staircase. Of these one double has shower facilities and another double and the twin share the family bathroom. The dining and living rooms both have south facing views over Dartmoor and patio doors lead into the private, enclosed garden from the sitting room, with a small pond bringing nature to your doorstep. The kitchen has a range oven and gas hob and is fully equipped for your cooking needs. We live on site in our own house which is separate from the cottages. It means that we are on hand to answer any queries that you might have or problems which might occur during your stay. There is a very detailed visitor book in the cottage with lots of information about things to do locally and in Devon.

We had a really lovely stay at Bale cottage. bale is part of a group of cottagesnof varying sizes. They are cleverly designed and so not impinge on each other. The views are great. The facilities excellent. Very dog friendly.

We stayed in Bale house for a week in September and then again in October 2017. The new owners have done a wonderful job of refreshing and updating all the cottages (we managed to get a quick look into them all) since they took over...More

About the neighbourhood
North Tawton is 10-15 minute walk away and has all immediate requirements with a Spa local shop, cashpoint, cafe, post office and 3 pubs. In Okehampton (8 miles) there are 3 further supermarkets, banking facilities, restaurants and far more. There are some great local pubs for lunch or supper. There’s a very detailed local guide in each cottage with lots of information. We are located in central Devon and on the edge of Dartmoor for amazing walks and hikes and for all Devon has to offer including the north and south coasts.
Getting around
A car is recommended / essential as we are in a country location. There is a local bus each hour from and to North Tawton which goes into Exeter via Crediton and villages. The nearest train station is Crediton, and man line is Exeter.
