There is central heating throughout, high speed wireless internet access and those with young children will find a travel cot and high chair in the cupboard at the top of the stairs. The fully enclosed walled rear garden means you can put your feet up whilst the children (or adults!) play safely to their heart's content. There is also another lawned area that’s ideal for sunbathing and a patio with garden furniture and a BBQ.
The ground floor is fully wheelchair accessible and you will find a large, open plan space to the rear of the cottage that accommodates the kitchen, dining and living areas.
High spec and fully equipped, the kitchen comes complete with a range cooker, microwave, large fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and all the crockery and cutlery you're ever likely to need.
To the side, a large dining table comfortably seats eight. Beside this is a cosy TV area, ideal for a family chill out with a large, comfy corner sofa by the fire with a multi-channel TV and DVD player. You’ll also find a wide selection of games in the cupboard. On the dresser are a host of family board games, books and DVDs.
One of our favourite spots is the two sofas at the back of the living area. French doors on three sides open onto the private garden (approximately 90 feet by 30 feet) flooding this area with natural daylight and making it ideal for spending a bit of 'me time' relaxing, reading the paper and enjoying a well earned refreshment.
The spacious ground floor family bedroom has a king size double bed together with adult size bunk beds, triple wardrobes, a large chest of drawers and a smart TV. Completing the ground floor is the family bathroom with jacuzzi bath and 'mains' shower over the bath.
Upstairs are two further bedrooms. The master boasts a king size double bed, double wardrobes, a chest of drawers, smart TV and a spacious en-suite shower room with “mains” shower. There are also a couple of comfortable chairs.
The large twin bedded room has built in wardrobes, chest of drawers, and smart TV player and the views over the garden are delightful.
The patio has a selection of garden furniture and a Webber barbecue. Outside lighting means you can stay out long after dark
Staying at Garden Cottage
When you are on holiday it is important you feel comfortable and relaxed. Worry not, that is what we aim for at Garden Cottage. You will find just about every modern convenience you could imagine as well as some you might not expect to see in a holiday home. All that we ask is that you treat the cottage with care so that the next guests find it in the same condition as you did. And we know that spillages and breaks happen. Unless the damage is extensive, you will not be charged. All we ask is that you let us know what happened so we can quickly repair or replace the damaged items.
Instructions for all the appliances can be found in a white folder in the shelf under the coffee table and the central heating instructions are displayed above the boiler in the cupboard at the top of the stairs.
You’ll find the bins in the bin store through the black door about 20 feet to your right as you leave the cottage’s front door. Fife Council now operates a four bin recycling policy so it would be a great help if you could do your best to sort your waste in to the appropriate bins.
The hall has been tiled so there is no need to take dirty shoes off before you come inside. However, it would be a great help if you do take them off before walking on the carpets and wooden flooring – you would not believe how dirty those areas can get!
Well-behaved dogs are welcome, but please keep them downstairs only and not in the family bedroom. And please, please clean up any mess in the garden. It is likely the next guests will have small children and we do not want any ‘accidents’.

This cottage is simply the best. Superb spacious rooms; quality fittings and furnishings; comfy beds; so well equipped kitchen (including sharp knives!); more than enough crockery, pans and glasses etc to cater for 8; lovely sunny garden and garden furniture; a nice welcome pack including coffee, tea, delicious biscuits and milk; extra touches including DVDs, books and games; 2 parking spaces right outside and shops, restaurants and pubs minutes walk away. I couldn't recommend this holiday cottage more. Great and easy communication with Alan, the owner. We were staying for a long weekend attending a Wedding at The Cow Shed - within easy stumbling distance. We certainly hope to return again soon.

The cottage is ideally situated in the pretty village and is simply perfect. It exceeded our expectations and met our every needs - including the dogs who loved the enclosed rear garden and nearby beach. Furnishings really are luxurious and staying at Garden Cottage made our holiday. I would highly recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Excellent accommodation
The Garden Cottage could not be better both in location and comfort. The cottage is large, comfortable, warm and clean with every convenience considered for our stay. We loved the large family living room with its kitchen, dining, lounge and conservatory area. Great bathrooms, large and roomy. The cottage is very well equipped. Smart TV in every room. The welcome basket was very welcome. We very much enjoyed our stay at Garden Cottage.

A perfect weekend in an amazing cottage!!
We stayed in Garden Cottage from 30th Aug - 2nd Sept and had the most amazing weekend! As a group of girls away for a relaxing break it really was the perfect choice - beautifully clean, lovely decor, comfy beds with super soft duvets and linen,a lovely spacious but enclosed garden and the most wonderfully well equipped kitchen!!! Perfect for the lovely brunches we made each morning to set us up for exploring the surrounding areas. The scenery in the area is stunning and we all agreed we’d love to come back! Thank you for a faultless stay.

Another excellent sojourn in the garden cottage.
Superb property, terrific location in the centre of Crail, close to every amenity this lovely village has to offer, an excellent enclosed garden, safe for the children with a garden shed equiped with everything a family could need, from games to amuse the kids and equipment for the nearby beach!
This is our second visit as a family and we will definately come again if we can align dates with availability, I can commend both the cottage and Crail without reservation to anyone looking for a relaxing break in the lovely East Neuk of Fife.

Perfect holiday cottage for a family holiday
My husband, two adult children, their partners and I had a lovely weekend at Garden Cottage. It is comfortable, spacious and very well organised with pleasant garden space. The owners have thought of everything and the welcome basket was a very nice touch. I also really appreciated the lovely quality bed linen. The location is ideal for heading to the beach or a wander through the village. We walked along the coast to Anstruther and back; a lovely long walk. Would highly recommend the cottage to anyone who is heading to beautiful Crail.

Dating back to 16th century, Crail is one of the most picturesque villages in Scotland and is only 20 minutes from St Andrews - the home of golf. A historic fishing port, it boasts one of the best preserved small harbours in the area and is well know for the shellfish that is caught and sold here, you won't get any fresher. While Garden Cottage is in the heart of the village, only 300 yards from the beach, shops and pubs, it's set back off the main street and enjoys tranquil walled gardens.
Getting around
There's a regular bus service from the village to and from St Andrews with connections across Scotland and the UK.
