Holiday Rental House
Franklin's View has a charming and cosy atmosphere befitting of a holiday cottage.
The open plan living and dining area has a bright and airy feel which is encouraged by the large panoramic windows, looking over the rooftops to the Harbour and Scapa Flow.
Franklin's View boasts its' own private and secluded garden with drying green and garden furniture (ideal for a BBQ or relaxing)
Franklin's View sleeps four people in two cosy bedrooms one of which is a double and the other a twin each with cupboards and hanging storage.
The bathroom has a fully tiled floor with a walk in shower.

Our 4th year at Franklins View, feels like coming home. Dogs love it too. Great place to stay in Stromness especially for the Folk Festival. Everything you need in a wee hoose above the harbour. We will be back

Best Shower in Town.
We enjoyed our holiday in this comfortable and well equipped house (excellent shower). The house is situated within easy reach of the centre of town in a nice, quiet neighbourhood with friendly neighbours. There is a view out to sea overlooking the lighthouse on Graemsay. We have enjoyed many holidays on Orkney, look forward to many more and would happily stay in this property again.

A good time had by all.
Perfect cottage for visiting the historical sites.Shops and restaurants close by.Good bus service if you dont want to drive. We will be back.

Wee gem in the heart of Stromness
This is the perfect house for a trip to Orkney. Situated in the heart of Stromness, it is only 2 minutes from the ferry - perfect after a long journey. Stromness is a lovely little town with narrow cobbled streets, traditional shops and good food and pub options. It is also the perfect base from which to explore Orkney.
The house is exceptionally well kitted out and really does cater for all needs - a real home from home. It was very warm and comfortable and we were provided with more than enough towels etc. We were also delighted that it was dog friendly and with an enclosed garden it was easy to let our chocolate lab out safely.
All in all, we thought Franklins view was an ideal place to enjoy a fantastic week in Orkney - can't wait to go back!

Excellent location! sea views, and all mod cons
very pleased with the house ,had every thing we needed for our stay. It was very clean and tidy, shower room/wet room was really good. Plenty space for the dogs to move about and the views are fantastic.
What i would suggest is to have gates to make the garden more secure for pets, my dog stepped over the wall to next door a couple of times and we had to source some wood to use as gates. If we did not do so the dogs would have just wondered out on to the street . But apart from that it was Fantastic!,, we will be back

Great location-great house
A very conveinently located property for visiting the sites Orkney mainland has to offer and for visiting the other islands. We very much enjoyed our stay- and the house had everything we needed. We found it well equipped and very clean. It was very sunny weather while we were in Orkney so the rear garden with its seating was excellent in the evening.
There is no parking at the property but there is free public parking at the rear- at first we were a little concerned about this but it turned out to be no problem at all- there was always at least one space when we needed it.

Great location and comfortable place
We enjoyed our stay but it was let down by the old fashioned bathroom and shower was barely warm which despite reporting was not fixed during our stay. Lack of hanging space in second bedroom. Otherwise great location and comfortable sitting room and very well provided but probably needs a bit of plumbing attention.

Perfect small get-away
Beautifully laid out cottage with stunning views in an extremely central and convenient location in Stromness. The cottage is so warm and cozy and has such a 'tardis' appearance. Ideal for a base for exploring all that Orkney has to offer.
A must for anyone seeking very affordable, yet superb accommodation in Stromness.
We will definitely be back soon.

Comfortable, convenient, even without a car
The house is well placed in the town with an interesting view over the rooftops to the harbor. Pleasant outside garden. Very comfortable for two or four people. Accessible to many sights by bus.
