Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Can't wait to visit again!
Everything about this property is jaw-dropping! The coziest retreat - walking in at the end of each day felt like a giant warm hug. The property and amenities are so thoughtfully appointed that you immediately feel right at home. The property owner was so kind and attentive and it was evident that she puts a lot of care into making sure that her guests are taken care of. Can't wait to return some day!

Perfect stay
What an amazing cottage. It was perfect in every way. From the moment we arrived we knew that this was a very special place. The location is stunning, and so peaceful. The cottage itself had everything we could ever need. The welcome goodies were very much appreciated and the fresh flowers and plants everywhere were a lovely touch. It was exceptionally clean and cosy. We loved the hot tub and the open fire in the living room was an added bonus. It’s a shame the weather wasn’t better so that we could have made more use of the outside space. Lisa was a perfect host and went the extra mile to ensure our stay was memorable. We will definitely return.

Retreat by name, retreat by nature!
Had a fantastic relaxing family break at the Retreat Cottage. Five star in every way and Lynn and Jamie couldn't have been more accommodating. From a lovely welcome pack on our arrival to making sure the hot tub was ready for use when we planned to use it. Definitely recommend!

Great stay in a lovely cottage,
A nice stay starts with a warm welcome and that is what Lisa and Jamie do wonderfully. Besides all the goodies and a bag full of fresh fruit, they also provide tips for walks and sightseeing in the area. We enjoyed meeting our host and felt very welcome. The Retreat is fantastic. The cottage is cosy, nice and spacious, there are good beds, lovely bathrooms and the kitchen is very well equipped. The hot tub completes it all!

Beautiful place
We’ve had the most amazing stay here in this beautiful cottage that has everything you could possibly need, home from home, but with the added luxury of being away from everything. The cottage has its own gardens that overlook rolling farmed fields where wildlife roams freely. Hot tub is wood fired and was such a treat to sit in and watch the world go by on an evening. Lisa was the perfect host, and although we didn’t meet her on this occasion, was in touch with us to ensure a smooth stay. The added luxuries of a few basics which included bread and eggs as well as a lovely bottle of chilled Prosecco and glasses added to the magic of the place. Walks from the door, village nearby that has places to eat and a Co-Op for those that prefer to cook. Simply wonderful!

Wonderful retreat
Thank you for a wonderful stay. The retreat is exactly as it says and more. Along a private driveway with the nearest neighbours at least a quarter of a mile away. Lisa & Jamie (owners) have thought of everything. The view is stunning, especially from the hot tub! We’ll definitely return. Many thanks from all 4 of us.

Luxury 3 Day Birthday treat
This is our 2nd time staying at Jamie and Lisa's cottage. We are a family of 3 our daughter aged 15. The cottage itself is absol outstanding, it has everything and more than you would ever require. I found myself thinking I forgot things like playing cards but no there was a set in the living room area. The smell when you first enter the cottage is so welcoming and relaxing it's a mixture of incense sticks burning in the log fire area and an oil burner with a beautiful fragrance. The mornings at the cottage are the best , we couldn't have asked for better weather. Opening your blinds in the main bedroom to watch the birds and squirels run up and down the large tree is just the best feeling. Lisa has a stock of bird food however I often bring some of my own too as I could sit and watch the birds all day. Lisa's hospitality is the best yet from and Air bnb host. Welcomed to a jar of homemade flapjacks and a basket of eggs, bread, locally sourced honey, biscuits and a lovely bottle of rose wine in the fridge just topped it off. Local area is great also you can wander down through the open farm where Jamie and Lisa stay only a 5 min walk away which brings you out at the River Earn great spot for fishing. We also drove into Auchterarder a few days for dinner, The Indian Gurkha was outstanding would defo recommend there and also the Italian across the road from Gurkha sorry can't remember the name. Also there is a small cafe great for takeaways called the Auchterarder Larder defo recommend a milkshake caramel frappe with shot of coffee. Overall this is our best and most memorable cottage and will defo be back x

Relaxing retreat.♥️
Myself, my husband and two friends stayed here for the long weekend. We had the most relaxing time chilling out by the log fire and in the hot tub. It really did feel like a different world away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Lisa was exceptionally good at communicating and has wonderful information pack of things to do, places to eat, hills to climb and walking routes of the area. The attention to detail of the whole retreat is spot on. Would 100% recommend to anyone. We would return in a heartbeat. 😊♥️
