We are close to main road with the convent woods to rear giving you privacy, and a fantastic view of golf course and Ben Tee to front.
The property is ready for guests arrival from 4pm unless otherwise arranged, we ask that guests leave by 10am on day of departure as we need time to clean for next guests.

Interaction with guests:Â We, Felicity & Chris are local and live in what was the priests quarters when the building was originally a church and are able to suggest many wonderful day trips combining superb scenic drives and walks, with castles, brochs and ruins that you probably won't find in any guide book.
We will give you the keys and show you around the apartment on arrival.
Chris is able to offer both guitar (beginner/intermediate) & fiddle (beginner) lessons to anyone who fancies a go.

We stayed in apartment 1 for the second year running and once again loved every minute. A delightful and comfortable converted property only a pleasant 5 minute walk to bustling Fort Augustus where there is so much to see and do. The owners Felicity and Chris are such lovely people and nothing is too much trouble for them. I can't recommend the Old Convent enough. Thank you again for having us - we will be back! The beautiful convent with its lovely hosts.
We stayed here for two weeks in one of the 4 very luxurious apartments.
The hosts are a couple of wonderful and lovely people who even had some very nice tips in beautiful places to visit.
It really is the nicest apartment we had on holidays and we will come back there for sure.
I recommend it to everyone who want to stay in the centre of visiting beautiful places in the highlands,

The most amazing place we have ever stayed...
Wow! What can we say that hasn't already been said... This place is incredible! We stayed in Apartment 1 of The Old Convent in Fort Augustus. Converted and refurbished to an exceptional standard with a keen and imaginative eye to detail. The apartment oozes character and charm and everything one requires is on hand and more. Exposed stone walls are complimented by comfy modern furnishings and there is a fully equipped kitchen to match. An eye catching spacious copper walled shower is certainly a feature and we really did find this place home from home. Board games, advise from the delightful and helpful owners and the surrounding area made our stay so special and we highly recommend The Old Convent! Thank you for having us Felicity and Chris - Your property is of great credit to you. Richard & Kathy.

Wonderful Stay
My husband & I stayed for 3 nights and we loved it. We received a lovely warm welcome from the hosts. Spotlessly clean, beautifully renovated . Everything you will need. It’s in a great location. The pictures don’t do it justice. We can’t wait to return .

Excellent holiday
Excellent apartment and lovely area. Loads to do and places to eat. Golf course is a absolute gem . Apartment's are amazing with all the comforts that anyone would need. Felicity and Chris are great hosts.

Quirky and stunning
Just spent three nights at the Old Convent apartment and well what can I say..... WOW WOW WOW
It’s impressive from the outside but once inside it comes into its own. Truly stunning, beautifully furnished, warm, everything you want from a holiday apartment and more. The shower room is stunning!!
It’s the little things like attention to detail that sets this apart from Other self catering apartments
Lovely friendly hosts as well. We will definitely return and definitely recommend

Home from home
Our second stay at number 1 the old convent and just as enjoyable as our first three years ago. We were lucky to fit our break in between lockdowns and it was much needed. Can't fault anything and we hope to return again in another 3 years!

Stunning apartment
Stayed in No 1 the first week in August. Immaculate, unique and spotlessly clean. This is the most delightful apartment you could imagine, with charming owners.
We will certainly make a point of returning.

Becoming a Habit !
Well here we are again ...this is our 3rd time at the Old Convent in No1 . The high standards have been maintained , but this time we had a beautiful Copper shower enclosure , it would have been so easy not to put the effort into this but that is what Felicity and Chris are all about exceeding the norm ! This is reflected in all the flats ( we were lucky enough to see the others as it was quiet ) The love and passion ploughed into the Convent can be heard in Chris's voice as he explains the plans for the flats....a lot of people would have left them square and began taking money ...but their patience and dedication to providing accommodation to the highest standard pays off in the fact that like us many people return time and time again. Fort Augustus has become an annual destination for us and The Old Convent a home from home. Thank you Chris & Felicity we wish you all the best for the 2020 season ...see you in 2021 !

Grandest of designs
If there is one problem with The Old Convent, it is that every time you open the front door you expect to be greeted by a TV crew and a certain balding presenter. This project may not have been anointed by St K, but it certainly deserved to be. If you ever wanted to know what it must be like to live in one of those places on the telly, then try visiting here.
What Chris and Felicity have achieved here, and continue to do so, is remarkable, both in the sympathetic way they have gone about it and the almost irritating quality of the fit and finish. Add to that a location where you can view mountains from the breakfast table and take a leisurely walk into the heart of Fort Augustus and you have the perfect holiday retreat.
Of course, you will have to accept that, when you get home, you will have a list of things to do to your own place, just to bring it up to the same standard!

Fort Augustus is central to the Highlands and is a great location for hill walkers with plenty of munro's and Corbett's to choose from and of course Ben Nevis in Fort William only 40 mins drive. You are spoilt with the fantastic mountain biking tracks in the area. The steam train to Mallaig is very popular and a must see is the Isle of Skye. There are lovely woodland walks in Fort Augustus full of wildlife and ideal if you want to bring your dog. Boat trips, canoeing, horse riding, fishing and bike hire available locally.Fort Augustus is the perfect place to relax with a short walk to the center of the village where you can find grocery shops, butcher, post office, ATM, petrol station and several pubs and restaurants.
Getting around
There is a bus service between the main towns around the area however we do recommend that you have your own transport to really see the best of what is on offer in this area.

How to get there
Coming from the south on A82 from Fort William/Spean Bridge travel north towards Inverness. As you enter the Fort Augustus 30mph limit you will see on the right hand side a small fire station and on the left a flashing speed indicator, the Old Convent is approx. 300m further on, on the right hand side with large trees at the front. The entrance is through the stone pillars, parking is at the gable end of the building.
Coming from the north, take the A82 south from Inverness. Drive through the village pass the petrol station, over the canal road bridge past The Lovat Hotel on the right, Caladonian Hotel on the left, pass the West end garage we are 300m further on the left at the end of the high wall.
