We stayed at number 3 for 4 nights and my only problem was that it wasn't for longer! The apartment has been beautifully restored and is fully equipped, so it's just like being at home. Felicity and Chris are wonderful hosts and are warm, welcoming and genuinely lovely people who make you feel right at home. The bathroom has a...

Lovely clean, spacious accommodation and Felicity and Chris were welcoming and really helpful hosts. Fort Augustus is a fascinating village and a great base to explore the Great Glen and beyond. Will go back one day and would definitely recommend the Old Convent to others.

We were given a warm welcome by Felicity and Chris, Felicity showed us round the apartment and gave us lots of ideas for places to visit. The apartment is very well equipped and Felicity left shortbread and jam for us as well as supplying toiletries and kitchen essentials. Everything was spotlessly clean and we had a very comfortable and enjoyable...

About the neighbourhood
Fort Augustus is central to the highlands and is a great location for hill walkers with plenty of Munro's and Corbett's to choose from. Fort William has Ben Nevis and the fantastic mountain bike tracks/skiing in winter of Aonach Mor , the steam train used in a Harry Potter film to Mallaig is well worth taking, the road to the Isle of Skye passing Eilean Donan castle is just breathtaking! You can take a guided wildlife boat trip on Loch Sheil from Glenfinnan where you can spot otters, eagles, seals and many more wild creatures! If you take the boat trip on Loch Ness...you never know, Nessie might pop her head up or if you go to Loch Morar you might get a glimse of the monster Morag. Then of course the dramatic Glencoe, well worth a visit.
Getting around
There is a bus service between the main towns around the area however we do recommend that you have your own transport to really see the best of what is on offer in this area.
