Cairnhill KA26 0RT is situated on Laggansarroch farm in rural South Ayrshire in the Stinchar Valley. It is 6 miles from the coast, 8 miles from Girvan and 15 miles from Turnberry Golf Course . The cottage is in Scotland's biodiversity area (www.gallowayandsouthayrshire.org.uk) well set back from a quiet minor road with good views across the valley facing South. The sitting room has an open fire and there is central heating. Linen is provided. Salmon fishing can be arranged locally and sea fishing is available from Girvan Harbour. The locality, including nearby Galloway park area, offers golf, walking and cycling and has spectacular gardens such as Logan Botanical Gardens. Ferry trips to Arran, Ailsa Craig and Ireland are in easy reach. Trains run from Girvan Station to Ayr, Glasgow and Stranraer .<BR>

Apart from the trauma of getting to Scotland (the M6 need I say more) and our sat nav not getting us close enough (more on that later) this was all we could have wished for! Beautifully appointed and stunningly clean cottage in a quiet (apart from the cockerel - who starts early be warned!) rural location - away from it...

South Ayrshire is hilly with steep valleys and fast flowing rivers and burns, most hold salmon and trout. The Cottage is in Scotland's only UN recognised biodiversity area where wild life and humans co-exist. The coats of the Firth of Clyde is close by with stunning views to Ailsa Craig, Arran and the Mull of Kintyre. Also in the vicinity near Dalmellington is the "Dark Sky" area (www.fo0rest.gov.uk/darkskygalloway) for viewing the sky at night.<BR>The highest hill in the area is the Merrick at just under 300oft reached from Glen Trool from it summit on a very clear day the view can extend to include Hevellian, the Mountains of Mourne, Malin Head and right up to the North shore of the Firth of Clyde distances of up to 70 miles.
