The kitchen is a wonderful space in the house with beautiful views of the northern Lewis landscape and the sea. The dining table seats four and we have a plentiful supply of pots, pans and kitchen equipment for you to cook. We have two different relaxation rooms depending on your mood. The upstairs lounge room has been designed as a quiet space to relax, read a book or listen to music. The panoramic roof window gives you an amazing view of the sea as well as bringing lots of light into this room. There is also a writing desk and office chair, which is perfect for writing postcards and handy for those who may need to work during their stay. The downstairs living room has two large comfortable sofas with TV, DVD Player and Apple TV to satisfy all your entertainment needs. You can also create a lovely cosy atmosphere in the evenings with the open fire. There are wonderful ocean views from many of the rooms in the house. The upstairs lounge room is a great place to do some star gazing through the roof window. Also, for those warm (and not so warm) evenings we have a bench in the back garden, which is an ideal spot to sit with a glass of whisky and enjoy the spectacular sunsets. If you visit in the winter months this is also a perfect spot to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights.More

About the neighbourhood
The house is located in the village of Cross, in the northernmost part of the Isle of Lewis, which is called Ness. The famous Lighthouse is a must see during your time in the house but the real attraction of this area is its rugged coastline and beautiful beaches. We promise that the natural beauty and sense of seclusion will take your breath away. Ness has plenty of useful amenities for you to take advantage of during your holiday. There is an excellent local shop (Cross Stores), several cafes as well as lovely galleries and gift shops.
Getting around
A car is highly recommended for your visit to the Outer Hebrides but there is a regular bus service from Stornoway (the main town on the island), which stops a 5 minute walk from the house.
