This was our second visit to Ardmore, and it remains the best cottage we have ever stayed in. It's a large luxury cottage in a fantastic location, and is very well equipped and comfortable. The cottage is very well maintained and was spotless when we arrived. We stayed for two weeks and used the cottage as a base to explore Skye and north west Scotland. There are plenty of local facilities - with a local supermarket and large petrol station within a 5 minute drive. There's lots of good local restaurants within walking distance, and even more if you don't mind a short drive. Overall, I would highly recommend this cottage and plan on coming back again in the future.

Skye holiday june 23
Ideal house for a Skye holiday. There were 6 in our group and there is loads of space in the house for everyone.
Well stocked kitchen. We tend to cook for ourselves and the dining room area is great for family meals.
The kids enjoyed the smart TV-suggest watch Dunvegan born Danny MacAskill bike trip along the Cuillin ridge. We stuck to walking some of them.
Short walk to local shops and restaurants in Broadford.
We will be back again-hopefully next year.

Great place to stay.
Perfect house in a perfect location. Ardmore is comfortable and central to all the places you would want to visit on the Isle of Skye. Our 3rd stay at Ardmore and it never disappoints with everything you need to have a lovely holiday.

Top Notch Accommodation on Skye!
Friendly hosts. A superb property, well appointed, in a prime location for exploring the stunning scenery of the island and Scotland`s West Coast.
Unlike previous visits to Skye, the weather this time was outstanding - mainly sunny with the Cuillin and lower hills plastered with snow. Minor roads too icy to negotiate without a 4-wheel drive but my wife and I saw a couple of otters and several porpoises jumping fairly close to shore.
Plan to come back soon!

Beautiful cottage on a magical island
This is a wonderfully maintained and beautiful 3 bedroom bungalow in impeccable condition - a real home from home and decorated nicely for Christmas. It is about a 10 minute walk into Broadford - unfortunately when we were there over the Christmas week most of the shops and restaurants were shut, so we got most of our stuff from the large and very well stocked Co-Op supermarket. The cottage was very well equipped (TVs, kitchen utensils, sofas, dining table, etc, etc).Easy driving around the island to visit the sites and enjoy the beauty. Come well prepared for wet weather though! Thanks to Ian for all the great communication. Would highly recommend if you are looking to spend some time on Skye.

Excellent home from home

Fabulous
Having visited Skye on several occasions with my partner, I knew we would have a great time. This time we brought some friends and we all had a fantastic time.
Ardmore is a fabulous cottage with plenty of room for the six of us. Everything we needed was provided and the location is superb. The views are stunning and we were even lucky with the weather!
Having stayed in the b&b (same owner) before, we knew Ardmore would be amazing, but it exceeded our expectations. We are glad we finally got to stay in "the posh house".

Perfektes Cottage
Ardmore Cottage liegt an einer ruhigen Straße und bei gutem Wetter schaut man auf die cirka 700 entfernte Bucht und den "Hausberg". Die Ausstattung (Audio, Waschmachine u Trockner) ist perfekt, die Räumlichkeiten sehr gut in Schuss. Der Vermieter ist außerordentlich hilfsbereit u wenn es ein Problem gibt (bei uns war es ein tropfender Wasserhahn), sofort behilflich.

Annual vacation to Skye
The Ardmore was very peaceful with great views and exactly what we needed. There was a few problems shortly after our arrival but were rectified by the owner’s with the minimum of fuss.

Beautiful bungalow in perfect setting
Ardmore is a beautiful bungalow in a perfect setting. Very peaceful location but within minutes walk to the nearest restaurant and 15 mins walk to the very well stocked Co-op. The bungalow more than lived up to the photos and was so well equipped.
We couldn't have been luckier with the weather, wall to wall sunshine for the entire week.
If you enjoy walking would highly recommend the old man of storr and also Glen Brittle. The Fairy pools are good for an easier walk.
Dunvegan Castle and Armadale Castle are both excellent days out.

Broadford the second largest settlement on Skye is an ideal centre frrom which to tour all of the island and also Wester Ross. It has a number of excellent restaurants, a supermarket, 24 hour service station, numerous art galleries and craft shops. There is also a small hospital and a medical centre.One thing you can be sure of-you'll be spoiled for choice if you are looking for an active holiday. If being right in the middle of the most glorious hillwalking and climbing scenery in Scotland isn't enough, visitors can enjoy a wide range of activities in and around the Broadford area.. Golfers will be delighted with the challenging and scenic Isle of Skye Golf Course, which welcomes golfers of all abilities (including children) and both green fees and club and trolley hire are extremely reasonable. The area is a paradise for anglers. Boat hire is available and a number of local boat operators offer fishing trips and charters. There is also some excellent fishing off the rocks. Some operators offer you trips in a glass bottomed boat--others offer seal, dolphin and whale watching trips, while the more adventurous can take part in a Sea-fari Adventure. A must is the trip on the Bella Jane or Misty Isle to Loch Coruisk in the heart of the Cuillin Mountains. If you want to make a real day of it, Caledonia MacBrayne also run day trips to the Outer Isles. If you want to see Skye on horseback there are a number of riding centres, although those who prefer four wheels will find some of the most spectacular and finest driving roads imaginable. The more energetic may want to hire bikes-these are available locally. Everyone knows of Skye's association with Flora MacDonald and Bonnie Price Charlie, but the island's history goes a little further back than that. There a numerous museums, heritage centres and sites of historical interest scattered throughout the island; Dunvegan Caste-seat of the Clan MacLeod, the folk museum at Kilmuir, the High Pasture cave at Torrin (bronze age) and the Aros Centre at Portree are just a few worth a visit. Try your hand at kayaking , canoeing, absailing and archery. Whitewave at Kilmuir (and others) offer these activities to individual, families and groups. As far as wildlife is concerned, Sklye has it all !! Seals, dolphins, porpoises, red deer, rabbits and a variety of of birds abound while the lucky visitor may spot an otter, a golden or a sea eagle. For those who are keen to see an otter there are varies hides locally.
Getting around
The best way to see the island and the near mainland is by car. For those who do not have a car there are a number of local tour companies offering tours round the island. There is also a local bus service but the service is somewhat infrequent

As you enter Broadford coming from the Skye Bridge or the Mallaig/Armadale ferry you will see the Vet Practice and the Claymore Restaurant on your right. Opposite is a minor road signposted 'Heaste'-turn into this road, go up the hill and Ardmore is the third house on your right. Parking is to the rear of the property.
The nearest airports are Inverness (100 miles) and Glasgow (200 miles) Driving times from Inverness/glasgow airports are 2 and 4 hours respectively.
The nearest railway stations are Kyle of Lochalsh (8 miles) and Mallaig (15 miles)
