Thanks Koyrun - glad you had a nice trip. I'd agree, the Highlands/Hebrides are far from multicultural. Very surprising (and disappointing) if anyone should experience the rolling eyes in this day & age though.

About the neighbourhood
The Isle of Skye in Scotlands Inner Hebrides archipelago has long attracted visitors with its spectacular, rugged landscapes and legendary air of romance. Ashaig House provides the ultimate base for exploring both Skye and the neighbouring mainland. Bask in an early morning stroll across the golden sands of Ashaig Beach, then hop into the car for a few day trips exploring the islands varied geological landscapes, and its history of Clans, Vikings Bonnie Prince Charlie. A week based in the comfort and tranquility of Ashaig House would allow four days for touring and walks in different parts of the island, along with a couple of days to explore highlights on the adjacent mainland. The spectacularly scenic conservation areas of Kintail & Balmacara (National Trust for Scotland estates) are...
Getting around
Car strongly recommended. It is possible to arrive by train/bus to Kyle of Lochalsh, and then a 7 minute taxi ride, but bus connections around Skye would be limited.
