Very comfortable cottage, has everything you need. Clean and cosy, good size well equipped kitchen, dinning & sitting room , plus tv room, both double size bedrooms with ensuite, plus bathroom downstairs. Lots of outdoor space in garden. Secluded location to chill out and enjoy the stunning views but just 5 min drive from restaurants /takeaway/ hotel /shops etc. It's...

About the neighbourhood
The Isle of Skye in Scotlands Inner Hebrides archipelago has long attracted visitors with its spectacular, rugged landscapes and legendary air of romance. Ashaig House provides the ultimate base for exploring both Skye and the neighbouring mainland. Bask in an early morning stroll across the golden sands of Ashaig Beach, then hop into the car for a few day trips exploring the islands varied geological landscapes, and its history of Clans, Vikings Bonnie Prince Charlie.

A week based in the comfort and tranquility of Ashaig House would allow four days for touring and walks in different parts of the island, along with a couple of days to explore highlights on the adjacent mainland. The spectacularly scenic conservation areas of Kintail & Balmacara (National Trust for Scotland estates)...
Getting around
Car strongly recommended. It is possible to arrive by train/bus to Kyle of Lochalsh, and then a 7 minute taxi ride, but bus connections around Skye would be limited.
Car advised
How to get there
Airport: Inverness: 140.0 km
Railway: Kyle of Lochalsh: 6.0 km
Ferry: Mallaig: 24.0 km
BY CAR: We recommend arriving by car. For air travelers we are 1 hr 40 min drive from Inverness airport, offering flights from London with Easyjet, BA and Flybe. Glasgow and Edinburgh airports are within a 4.5 hr drive, and there are many spectacular Scottish landmarks to be visited en route to Skye, e.g. Loch Ness, Stirling Castle, Glencoe, Blair Castle, Eilean Donan Castle.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT: It is feasible to arrive by train to Kyle of Lochalsh (and shop here), and then a 7 minute taxi ride to Ashaig House. However on-island transportation and shopping would be complicated/limited without car usage. There are daily bus connections with Citylink from Glasgow to Broadford, Isle of Skye.
