Cuan Beag is a purpose built luxury Eco holiday home that sits very peacefully on the shores of sheltered Loch Treaslane (a subsidiary of Loch Snizort). There is a wealth of wildlife with Seals, Otters, Sea Eagles and many other birds frequenting the shoreline; and dolphins & porpoises have recently been seen swimming up the loch. Cuan Beag provides direct access to the shore for kayaks and small boats.
Cuan Beag's major asset is the bright and spacious open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area with strategically placed windows that give panoramic views of the loch and out towards the Outer Isles where the ferry can regularly be spotted in the distance arriving and leaving from Uig. The south facing decking area is a real suntrap even in winter sunshine. With an underfloor heating system throughout and individual room thermostats, the whole property is very comfortable; there is also a wood-burning stove for those cosy evenings.
Cuan Beag is as well suited to a romantic retreat for two as it is for a group of friends or family to relax and enjoy the surroundings. As with our first holiday let, (Moeraki) we have once again prioritised on quality key furnishings (in particular luxury mattresses, bedding and settees for your comfort at the end of the day) as well as carefully planning the layout of and fully equipping the kitchen to enable many creative dishes. Built-in appliances include a double oven with grill, separate Induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer as well as a coffee machine. In addition to the usual toaster and kettle, there is also a sandwich press, food processor with liquidizer along with weighing scales and other baking accessories, dishes and trays and a large range of kitchen utensils including good quality kitchen knives that are kept sharp.
The Master bedroom with its own door opening onto the south facing decking can be set up as a Super King size double bed or as two 3ft wide twin beds and has an en-suite bathroom with large walk-in rain shower. The second bedroom also has a large Super King size double bed and en-suite shower room. The third bedroom can be set up as either a Super King sized double or as two 3ft wide twin beds. This room has access to a luxury bathroom with modern free standing bath. Adjacent to the main entrance is a utility area where outdoor clothing and equipment can be stored and also located here is an additional sink, washing machine and tumble drier if required.
The large 55' Flat Screen HD TV has a 'Sound Bar' and access to Freeview channels with an easily accessible HDMI port to connect to your own devices. There is also a Blu-Ray DVD Player and a selection of DVDs and a Hi-Fi System that conveniently connects via Bluetooth to your own devices. We also provide a selection of traditional games, cards and a wide selection of books, walking guides and maps; not forgetting a handy pair of binoculars to spot the wildlife through those windows!
This is a low allergen home, so we do not permit any pets or smoking. We regret that we are unable to safely provide a fire guard around the stove and therefore our insurance does not cover us for children aged 12 and under.

The house is perfectly clean, very well equipped and incredibly cosy, the underfloor heating is really an asset. The large living room windows provide extensive and ever changing views of the bay area. The beds are very comfortable, the bathrooms are tidy and tastefully decorated and the kitchen is equipped with eyerything you need.
Contact to the owners was very uncomplicated, friendly and highly appreciative,
We had a perfect fortnight and would love to be back soon!

Unser Urlaubshighlight - warum soll man hier nochmal weg?

Perfect place for wildlife
We have just had a beautiful week at Cuan Beag, which is in a stunning location on the loch. The view from the panoramic windows wowed us as soon as we stepped inside and it was hard to tear ourselves away from watching the birdlife, seals and lovely sunsets. About ten minutes walk up to the point at the end of the road is a seal colony just offshore - a very peaceful and special place.
The property is exceptionally clean, modern and well maintained, with comfortable beds and there was a lovely welcome pack of local produce when we arrived.
The central location on Loch Snizort Beag is great for reaching all parts of the island and only about 15 minutes drive (over lots of potholes on the main road!) to Portree for restaurants.
We would be very happy to stay here again.

fantastisch, ruhig, sehr gut ausgestattet

Fantastic House in a stunning location
We had a magical week at Cuan Beag. We were incredibly lucky with the weather-unbroken sunshine almost every day. The house is very well equipped and cosy, with stunning views over the loch-especially at night when the sun goes down-we were treated to amazing sunsets over the mountains of Lewis/Harris. The location is perfect, a short drive to Portree for shops and eating establishments, plus boat trips from the pretty harbour. Most parts of the island are within easy reach-Carbost is recommended for the Tallisker distillery, Fresh fish at the Oyster Shed and the Old Inn for nice food in a stunning setting. Also recommended are the Stein Inn at Waternish, the Edinbane Inn at Edinbane, and the Antlers bar at the Portree Hotel. Beautiful scenery is everywhere and don't be afraid to take minor roads (beware pot holes) for fantastic scenery and a sense of isolation. Communication from Jenny was faultless. Highly recommended.

A little piece of heaven
We have just enjoyed a week at this beautiful property and had to share our experience
From the moment we arrived we just knew we’d found our little piece of heaven. Off the beaten track, sitting on the edge of a Loch with beautiful views through large panoramic windows. When we arrived it was a very wet autumn day but on opening the door the first thing I noticed was how Toasty warm it was inside. The interior is modern, the kitchen extremely well equipped, the bedroom with its en-suite just lovely (there are 3 bedrooms in this property but we only utilised 1 as we were a couple) The main bathroom has a huge bath which made my jaw drop!!
A log burner for chillier days/nights if you needed it and books and games.
The complimentary little local extra treats which had been left very thoughtful and much appreciated
And although we had a very wet week weather wise we just enjoyed the property for it’s beauty and stunning ever changing Loch views- no two days the same. We had great fun spotting and trying to identify the wildlife- bird watching at its finest!!
We had a truly chilled out week and would 100% recommend staying here - you will want for nothing and it really is a little piece of heaven
A big thank you Jenny for allowing us to experience your stunning home- we had a fabulous holiday
Ps - we loved waking up to the cows on the doorstep!!
